Hi! So I am totally unfamiliar with the area......I will defer to the new yorkers on this one....bluesy or fiddle? I know thAt the Brooklyn brewery was mentioned but don't know if its close? Let us know and we will be there. Next friday WHOA.

i can link some places up for you guys to take a look at. brooklyn brewery is very close to the venue ... though i'm not a fan of it as a hangout spot. a bit sterile IMO but whatever you guys are into works :)

i've never been here but it's close + has rooftop beer garden -- berry park

gutter's is really close .. a cheesy throwback shithole bowling alley. has a very large area for hanging out and drinking alot beer though. i think you can also have pizza delivered or bring one with you, or some other such food stuffs

brooklyn bowl is also very close and is the exact opposite of gutter's .. posh, maybe more $ but with beers it's probably the same .. has good food. not alot of sit-down space unless @ bar. there is seating in a dinning area but you sorta have to dine.

i'll post more as i think of them ... but out of those three i'd probably pick gutter's for a group meet up. the venue is a little bit out of the way though so i'm having a hard time coming up with good spots that are close enough to maximize pre-show time and minimize hoofing it over time.

i can't believe this show is next week .. i am moving to new digs (practically around the corner) on thursday > show on friday > have to work on saturday (which happens like once a year) .. i'm gonna be beat come sunday!

I'm not making this show :( I'll be heading up to Newport that day...saw these guys minus Jim last winter at Joe's Pub. They were really beautiful and I'm sure you will all enjoy!!! Penny sorry I have been MIA that heat is absorbing me

thanks, brooke! this looks great. i'm up for the Brooklyn Brewery or this rooftop garden place (Berrys)? Fridays can get kinda busy so i guess what time we're gonna meet might be a factor.

bluesky---yeah, we've been missing each other. i know it's your busy season!! enjoy newport and we'll hang out in August!!

a wrench has been thrown into the works for me. hopefully i can still make the show. just not sure i'll get there in time for any pre-game shenanigans; which is a total bummer. if not, hope to bump into y'all at some point.

i definitely want to try and make it to b.bowl but i might not get off work until 6:30/7pm and then 30 - 40 minute travel time. trish gave me her # so i'll shoot her a text when i'm off and see what the situation is timing wise .. i'd love to meet ya'll though !!

if anyone is just looking for a low-key, cheap bar to hang out in before the show... I'd recommend Zablozki's. It's just down the street. Pretty good vibe.
