Last Fair Deal Gone Down...

Penny Lane

:) :) :) Been waiting so long for this.
..but it couldn't come on a worse weekend.

**FYI-if you go in w/a group, i think you can get discounted tix**
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

BIGVICLBI

My friend went to one this spring and I joked after they sang together that they would be doing one I am so so there gonna look for tix right now.

classicrocker623

Oh my sweet Jesus this is going to be incredible.  If only tix weren't $150...

headhunter

wow wow wow!

here's the link.  this would be monumentally special and intimate.
it's only a week or so before I hit all 5 at T5 so logistically this may be close to impossible but if you can get there and spare the $$, this is a once in a lifetime event  (kinda like all 5 at T5)

Wow will that be good! The date is a no go for me but other than prior conflict I would be making this happen for sure.

ALady

I want to go to this so badly I could vomit.

Is it worth skipping my college roommate's wedding?   ;D
if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

Hey people get married all the time.  MMJ only plays the ramble ONCE.   ;)
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

ALady

I mean, we're really not that close any more...we hardly ever talk...   ;D

Standing room is all that's left now.

All the seats are sold. As of now it's just standing room tix left.

I would so love to do this, but can't manage it with T5 and KFC.

I'm trying not to think about how great this will be. One of my best friends goes up to Levon's at least once a year, and said at the worst, you'll be  40 feet away. If you have a seat and get there around 5:00- 6:00 pm, it'll seem like they're performing in your living room!

Damn!
"Where's Jim going?"

Penny Lane

I was lucky enough to do this in June with the Drive-by Truckers and it's true. Even if you're standing, you're standing pretty close or you're above in the loft area overlooking the stage. It's really laid back. You show up early and park and you can bring your own alcohol, they give you plastic cups and you can go stand in line and drink and walk back and forth to/from your cars. They didn't open the doors till about 7:20 and I got a seat and was probably 30 to 40 people back. Some people wanted to stand up above. There are about 50 chairs and everyone else kind of stands. What's cool is that MMJ will probably just be standing around watching Levon's set or on the back porch hanging out, too. There's a museum area downstairs and also you can bring food to share and go down during the set breaks and go down and hang out and talk music. It's a really magical/religious experience. If you get a chance, go up to woodstock for the day, the town itself is only about 2 miles away from Levon's place. There are a couple of cool bars that haven't changed much, so it's like a really fun time warp. It's definitely a day I will never forget. If I could go back in time, I'd wait to share it with the Jacket, but I definitely loved seeing Patterson up there w/Levon, too. (Also, Donald F sits in and there was a pretty cool horn section).

Either way, I've already decided that I want my house designed like Levon's!

;D ;D Too funny! That's exactly what my buddy told me.

He pretty much described the ramble experience exactly like you have.

Damn bad timing! >:( >:(
"Where's Jim going?"

headhunter

so so sad i can't do this

penny, jealous you saw the truckers there.  i saw them at webster hall in nyc a few months ago.  5 feet from the stage and they were truly awesome.  are going to see them on nye at T5?

CTdeadhead

Wow, this is sooooooo cool.  Can't make it but I can dream.  Wonder if there will be a taper present....I hope.

oistheone

Oh my goodness. As if my T5 itinerary couldn't get any more ridiculous (and expensive). Anyone want to go in on those 5+ discounted tickets? You could put me down for two and I'd PayPal you tomorrow!

KingRhinoNJ

... If you have a chance to ever do a Ramble, go for it ...

... I'd be interested if enough people wanted to go for the discount .. 'Cuz that $150 price tag is a mother ....

i love levon & have been told that midnight ramble is a must - well worth the ticket price.  and now, mmj is guesting on my birthday!!!!

ohmygawd .. how can i not go to this? here's the thing, i'm actually already going to a ramble this month (anders osborne + stanton moore trio). that said, i'd go to this but i need to find a ride. living in nyc = no car for me and renting is pretty steep (not to mention ramble tickets).

but w0w, that would be amazing!! tickets for these things go fast, the one i'm going to is totally sold out. what to do !?

Well, when I talked to management and told them I couldn't fucking believe that they weren't honoring your birthday in some sort of fashion, and how utterly appalled I was, they immediately made the call and set it up.  I mean, being such a big time fan and all the boys are happy to do it.  Just remember the little people out there.

HAPPY EFFING BIRTHDAY SIS!!!  :D
