Totally reminiscing about two years ago today. Oh my goodness, the most amazing week ever! Sitting back watching some videos and looking though photos! I can say without a doubt that our panties were rocked off all week long!

Thank you My Morning Jacket! You blow my mind each and every time!

Nice bump on this thread...I can't believe it's been 2 years. It's time for MMJ to release the T5 box set...;)

I haven't had a better week since that magical time in october 2 years ago.

was some shakin' and some record playin'

Great bump Trish!   TTF was an amazing night, and sits right at the top of my favorite of the five. All of them were great, but this night just blew me away.

That T5 week ranks right up there with the best concert weeks ever for me. The music, city, meetups, and great forum friends will always hold a special place in my heart. Even if they do a T5 with all six albums, that week in 2010 will be awfully hard to top.

Almost forgot to mention the posters.   Five classics,IMO, and that collection is my most prized artwork in my home.

:: waits patiently for the box set ::

I have to (re-)live the days vicariously through the forum crowd since the wife and I didn't go due to other plans later in the year.  I don't regret our decision, but still would have been cool to see the band for 5 days.

Sweet bump! What a great time and it's so fun to revisit it.

What a wonderful bump!

It was two years ago yesterday that the Ramble changed my life forever. Two years ago today, I was visiting Rick Danko's grave before departing for the city.

What a magical week. I am glad the Tennessee Fire thread got bumped because I still believe this was the best night. I know, it's hard to compare your beautiful children, but the first one always means a little more.

I've never felt more HAPPY at a concert than I did two years ago tomorrow. So many songs we'll probably never hear again. So much beauty. So much ROCK!

Thank you for this nostalgic bump. It has really brightened my day thinking of all the wonderful memories from that beautiful week in October!

I had forgotten about that "interview" (if that's what you can call it).  I'd love to find that video if anyone has it, or knows where to find it.

MrWhippy

Also my favorite album performance of the four that I saw (I missed ISM night).

Also fun to have met some of you for the first time that night.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

One of the best nights of my lives.  I'll never forget it as long as I'll live.  Can't believe it was 2 years ago.
As long as my heart's beating, that's all the proof you need....

Ah, like it was yesterday... two years ago I wished, so hard, that I could go.  Got to reread all my posts wishing you well while I stewed up here, jealous as shit.  Has it been only two years?  Grrrrrrrrrr.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest, as I DID just reread all my posts from two years ago.  In truth, it mostly brought back good memories of the week leading up to meeting every one of the crazy ass forum folks that have become my rock 'n' roll family.  From headhunter, willing to provide a ticket and a place to crash to a virtual stranger, to crossing the street and...

I digress, and should save this memory for Oct. 23, next Tuesday, my only 2-year anniversary from T5, a very special day indeed.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Wow, it makes me smile to read this thread again.

Mr. Yac, many very special times these past two years.

Was some pretty special nights as I recall.

And Eric, my remaining brain cell won't forget the nightly poster parade. Among everything else.

Ah, forget it.  Don't want to get all nostaligic now.

Awe ~ it was truly a magical week! I have been listening to the audience recording of Tennessee Fire today. Fantastic to hear the excitement of the crowd which includes many of us here. One of the best weeks of my life and so happy to have shared it with many of you that I had connected with for the first time that week if not in the few years leading up to these shows!!! I believe it is when the forum became a family....

have to add thanks to the two people who did this recording, i even enjoy their conversation during By My Car, though I might have not if i was actually standing next to them during this show. And also a thanks to our boys for doing T5 the happiness you bring goes beyond the music you make!!!!

Haldon

Re-watching/re-living some of the videos from the first night, and one of the things that just slams me in the face is how absolutely silent the crowd is during the slower/more mellow songs.

I feel like there are so many concerts these days where fans feel the need to talk/chat/yell during the show or if they are unfamiliar with the song, and that extra noise really ruins the moment.

There were times during that first night and a few of the nights which followed, where the venue was absolutely silent except for the music...and it created such a magical feeling....i want it again

oistheone

Haldon, you said it -- the silence is what made night one the best concert I've ever seen. As the week went on, I feel like the shows were infiltrated by some rather boisterous "fans". But night one, I feel like it was all us. People who just wanted to hear the music. During "I Will Be There When You Die", there was a moment where there were no WOOs. No YAAAAHs. No clapping. No sneezing. No coughing or throat clearing. No drinks clinking. It was just beautiful, beautiful silence. I've never heard that at a concert before or since. It was magic.
