QuoteDennis King (D. King Gallery) is an old school poster guy, been on the scene for decades.  His prices tend to be a bit inflated, but most galleries are.  I would recommend keeping an eye on Ebay and expressobeans.  In fact, looks like there are some for sale by expressobeans members for far less than $150

http://www.expressobeans.com/members/detail.php/14314/trades

probably have to create an account to access that part of the site though.

also, just noticed you can still buy it directly from Diesel Fuel prints (original printer of the poster) for $75.

Thanks for the info!

Has anyone seen any of the Halloween posters designed by Cricket Press for sale anywhere? That's what I'm most interested in getting my hands on.

walterfredo

^email them.  They're good people!

That poster is a bit of a mystery to me.   It's listed on Cricket Press but it's never gone up for sale, and I've checked most days.   It said "not yet available" for about a month and then a few weeks ago it switched to "unavailable".   But not "sold out" like the T5 poster.   I emailed them last week and haven't gotten a response.    It's one of 2 posters I need to complete my 2010 collection...

Hey magh33ta, I emailed them a while back and here's the response I got in regard to the Halloween poster:

Unfortunately we are not going to be able to make any of these posters available through our website as we had hoped. We wanted to make sure we kept everyone who was interested informed in the event that we got a batch of them to sell, but that has not turned out to be the case. We apologize that they will not be available from us on cricket-press.com.

So unfortunately it doesn't look like they'll be available through Cricket Press. In an earlier email they told me they were responsible for the design only and that they were printed elsewhere.

I've been checking eBay since the show and haven't seen any come up. Such a grrrreat show - I want the poster!

Bummer you didn't get one.  I was really surprised it was such a small run (160) I think for such a large crowd.  I almost missed out on the 08 riverfront show, every since I bee line straight to the merch table.  The yum yum poster is really nice in person, not the standard 18 x 24 but definitely worth having.  Original run of 55 but I believe they have made more available for order.
Y'all got any disco ball back there?

QuoteFrom a suitcase to boxes of merchandising, "Merchandising, Merchandising, Merchandising" (sorry had to add that small quote from Space Balls the movie) thats just the smell of success on the that poster you have from their first tour.  Nice find at a garage sale, and free at that.  Glad you found it cause the people having the sale were most likely going to throw it out if it wasn't taken(assuming that because it was free).

Actually it was a friend of my Dad's garage it wasn't a sale of any kind I just seen it and asked about it.  A little convincing was all it took.  but yeah it definately would have been tossed eventually.  House to garage to garbage.  I found it in the nick of time.

And glad that you did do the convincing because its a nice find!

QuoteI do.  In 3 different colors.  :D

(the artist is actually a friend of mine)

That gold variant looks real nice, did you win the frame up contest by any chance?  Your friend is pretty talented as i know that he does the designs for Dogfish Head Beer, what are the three colors that you have them in?  My guess, gold, silver and black?

walterfredo

yes, Marq does a lot of the labels for dogfish brewing co.,

I have the Gold, Black, and the Tan.

I think I got runner up in his frame up contest.  Here's my gold one framed up (kind of a crappy photo).

Did not know that - very cool!  Do you know if he's going to be on that "Brew Masters" program at all?
if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

walterfredo

I doubt he'll actually be on the show, but I really have no idea. He lives in the bay and the brewery is out east.  You can see his art all throughout the show though, lots of it is up on the walls in the brewery, and some of the people in it have been wearing his shirts too.

anyone know any really good sites to purchase posters (not just MMJ) other than ebay and indvidual artist sites?

At the moment I'm basically homeless, sleeping at my girlfriends, and have all my things at my sisters... including posters. I was there for christmas looking at my posters, and with the addition of the earx travaganza, I have 9 MMJ posters, as well as some of my MMJ vinyl in frames for art. When I (finally) get this condo situation figured out my place is gonna make me look like a freak.

Hey, Eric, I got the same poster from the same seller a few weeks ago and its all good!  The poster is beautiful in person, with some nice gold "foil" ink, and was in great condition, well packaged.  Slow shipping, but you can't beat the shipping fee (free).  I was curious to see 2 of the same poster from the same seller, but I'm convinced they're legit copies.  I don't recall what number I got, but let me know if you're not fully satisfied.  The seller lives in my in-laws' town of Plainfield, Il, so I can send my 6'5" father-in-law out to kick ass if needed.   ;D
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Gold foil ink sounds bad ass. I'm excited about it. It's not my favorite MMJ Burwell, but it's pretty awesome and I couldn't pass up that price.

Does the Clinton Reno poster with the lion have any rarity value at all?

There are lots of other poster websites out there... PosterCabaret.com, PostersAndToys.net, secretserpents.com, DieselFuelPrints.com, Insound.com, GigPosters.com, Expressobeans.com,  etc.

I actually bought this print from Lonestar Posters a couple years back.  I can vouch for them and the poster.  They were the only place I could find that sold them.  It's a very nice print in person (as are all Clinton Reno posters).  Lonestar was quick with the shipment and easy to work with.  Plus it's only $25 + shipping.  Well worth it in my opinion.  It may not be worth much now but I have a feeling that will be different in a couple of decades.  Time will tell...
