that's miles per hour... ;D

this a.m., with Dazed and Confused crankin' at maximum volume, I felt some kind of rush I hadn't encountered before...magical in a way.

other than "drive safely", do you have any stories of driving really fast with someone blastin' on the stereo?  just curious...

I once wrote off my Dolomite Sprint listening to "Dead Ringer". Does that count?  Loud music ALWAYS makes me want to drive fast. Now I'm better at resisting the temptation...but it's not easy.

Never...ever...listen to "Heroin" on the expressway.  Ticket waiting to happen.

CC

was drivin back from a Jeff Buckley gig once, listening to Eternal Life REALLY loud. it cost me some serious money ;D

When it comes to the Zep it's a toss up between Trampled Underfoot (obviously) and In My Time Of Dying cranked up to the max.  Even if your driving a citreon 2cv it'll feel like an ac cobra.  Run thru is also amazing when your driving.

Crazy!  I had the same experience.  I was recently 16, and had just got my license, and bought my first ever VU cd.  In the middle of 'Heroin', I looked down, and was going nearly 90.  Luckily, no ticket!

Rabid_Washcloth

"Heroin" - Towards the end, when the violin starts screeching, that's when you can't help but go a little faster.

If I can remember the name correctly, the song "Everything Flows" by Teenage Fan Club will have you speeding.

"Stop the Show" (live version) by Built To Spill a good one too.

Not sure if my car would do 100 mph, its old and built for comfort - not unlike my goodish self I suppose.
But I am quite partial to Elvis - Promised Land/Little Feat - Dixie Chicken/Zep - Rock n' Roll/Laibach - Life is Life/Kid Rock - Cowboy/Offspring - Orginal Prankster/MMJ - Phone Went West (any excuse to mention that song)/Dead - Lovelight ...............and many more that expose me as an old fart. ;)

from one old fart to another, it's all good mate!  the thread is titled "led zep at 100 mph", not "Offspring, Staind, Nickleback, etc. etc. insert-a-crappy-newer-band's-name-here at 100 mph..."

With the proliferation of classic rawk in my collection, I'd say I'm guilty as charged.

I do remember riding on my bicycle with At Dawn my discman and speeding up when 'Phone went west' came up, but I suppose that's a little less macho...  ;D

Wow, what a picture that is!  Have you any stories of riding around on your bike with ISM on the headphones?  ;)

I think this is JC telling me off!
I'll try and stick to the thread title in future, possibly.
And for your information, I didn't mention Nickleback at all, and I don't think that Offspring are crappy.  But what do i know?

So there.....

Ah, yes, I recall the days riding on the back of my cow through the Dutch fields with those delightful hits of Nickelback blasting through my headphones, just dreaming about Chad Kroeger...

Err, what did I say?  :o

 ;D ;D ;D

I have a tendency to drop the hammer when most anything from Psalm 69 by Ministry hits the airwaves--especially tasty are:  Just One Fix, NWO, and Jesus Built My Hotrod!
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.
