I can't wait to hear these!
But seein you feels good, and its always understood.
That anything much sweeter would make me die.

That dude is a fucking music machine.  It's like, does he ever do anything else, ever than write songs and record them and pose for pictures and play concerts?

Has anyone ever checked him for a pulse?

He has totally worn me out.  I wish he would reform Whiskeytown and put out a disc like Strangers Almanac.  That is when he was a great talent.  And I never understand putting our three albums at once.  He just isn't that good.

D.

Doesn't he do "sunglasses at night"?  (J/K!!!) ;)
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

I will buy them.
Love him or hate him, the guy is unbelievable.
Enjoy him while he lasts.
This guy's got Rock 'n' Roll roadkill written all over him.
He smokes like there's no tomorrow.

Well, we've discussed the man in length over here. He's rather controversial. :)
However, what the fuck is that website, JacketGirl? All I get is some music (nice music, I must say) and the sentence 'Your soul is black' Is that what's supposed to happen? Or is it the devil speaking to me?
I'm ready when you are

MMJ_fanatic

yeah me too--I was waiting to see if it happened to anyone else--just a black screen and tunes?

I TOTALLY wish whiskeytown would do a reunion.  Pneumonia was an incredible album.

Whoops.  Quoted the wrong post.  My bad.

He's gonna tour all year too apparently, he's hit and miss live though. Last time I saw him he fell off the stage and broke his wrist!

Motor Away

Hyped Up Overrated Hack....one 'decent' album...poseur if you ask me.

The only Ryan Adams that I know (aside from a couple of songs on mixed cds from pals) is this really amazing recording of Return of the Grievous Angel with Gillian Welch done at the ... wait for it ...  Exit/In in Nashville.

It's pretty wicked.

I still think Whiskeytown's Faithless Street is his best work. Not as commercially popular as Strangers Almanac, but more honest, and if you get the re-issue it has some of the latter's best songs on it as well. If you listen to him talk about that recording session it sounds like it was one big drunken summer for a 20-year-old. His voice and writing are still raw and sincere, not pretentious, which I think his later records are characterized by. I do give him props for being a freakin' factory though -- very prolific.
