Agreed tundra.

Now moved on to All Good Things, the Jerry Garcia studio sessions box set. Staggering.

Currently, I am walking with (musical) giants.

Word, indeedie.
the future is Ginger

If it's musical giants you want, go buy "Festival Express" (discussed in other forums) I just saw it yesterday, and the scene where Rick Danko, Janis Joplin, Jerry Garcia, and Bob Weir jam on "Ain't No More Cane" (on a train, completely bombed out of their minds) is not to be missed.

Best Quote goes to Jerry: "Janis, I've loved you since the day I saw you."

Lately Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals "Live From Mars" is in totally heavy rotation in my player--forgot how much I love this (ESPECIALLY disc 1!) :D

A fantastic new tribute album. I thoroughly recommend it  :D

Sun Kil Moon is now played out for me, but was in my player for about 6 months straight.  Can't say enough about Kozelek's songwriting and singing.  Almost as good as Jim.
It is winter here in Mass, and a lot of rain and snow music has been appropriate.  Thus, have had the following playin lately:
Jay Farrar- Stone, Stell and Petals
Modest Mouse-Moon and Antarctica
Iron and Wine-the latest album, put the older one away
Last but not least, Red House Painters, Old Ramon.
Peace everyone.  Anxiously awaiting some new Jacket material.

Coltrane

-Calexico- everything
-Camera Obscura (the Scottish one)
-Iron & Wine (latest)
-older M Ward records
-waiting impatiently for new live Magnolia Electric Co./Songs Ohia!!!!!!!!!!
....as mayor of Drugachusettes, I declare this pizza to be...AWESOME!!!

The_Link

hey, coltrane, what album would you recommend of M. Ward's if you could only choose one.  I plan to buy just one, so point me in the right direction.  I like his stuff, but I think one album will suffice.  Appreciate it.

Coltrane

well, I'd have to say the latest, "Transfiguration of Vincent." It's his most complete. "end of amnesia" is great, and should be next. the first record is out of print, i think. I got a copy at one of the shows.....and he's got a new one comin' out some.

but start with 'Transfiguration of Vincent." you shan't be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have to respectfully disagree and reverse your order (mostly because I LOVE O'Brien's Nocturne) ;)
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

Some North Mississipi Allstars have been rockin my ears the last couple of hours, followed by the most gnarly War Begun I've heard live, Headliners MH, 9.27.03,      By My Car, Honest Man, Then Rollin' Back,  Fa Sho

medea_33

Newer stuff...I've been listening to Rilo Kiley and Rufus Wainwright lately...Older stuff...there's "Houses of The Holy," which never leaves my car (I can't wait until sxsw because Robert Plant is the keynote speaker), The Cure, and Rusted Root.
and on heaven's golden shore we'll lay our heads

A ghost is born from wilco is really amazing, a record that gets better and better the more you listen to it... (those are the good ones...)

i mean: when in 'at least that's what you said' the guitarstorm starts, so much energy!
