Here's what was on rotation in the car for the past two odd weeks:
M. Ward - Transfiguration of Vincent (will NEVER tire of this)
M. Ward - Transistor Radio (also hugely in love with)
M. Ward - End of Amnesia (picked up at Ear X-tacy)
Joanna Newsom - Mild Eyed Mender (Riny called her an angel.  All the boys love her.  She is really quite fucking incredible.)
Rilo Kiley - whichever the new one is - just got it.  I really loved their set at Bonnaroo, but I fear this record will have to grow on me a little.
Buffalo Springfield - mostly previously unreleased recordings of songs that we know.
MMJ - Everything, but mostly It Still Moves because it is in my top three driving records of all times.
Mark Vogelsang - you've heard me speak of him before
Beck - Geurro (I am in love with this man.  Well, I was until I heard he might be a scientologist.  Then I got a little disappointed.)

I can't remember what else.  The heaviest rotation was M Ward and My Morning Jacket, mostly because I love to sing when I'm driving, and I have a supremely awesome and patient best gal friend.  :)

definitely in my top tier as well.

it would be a tad disappointing, but if he is, let's pray he's not as bad as tom "i'm a nutbar" cruise.

A few things.

1.  Ziggy Stardust Spiders from Mars.  Recommended.  Appreciated.

2.  Common.  Weird for me, but, wow, some very awesome things.

3.  Don Dante.  Every chance I get.

4.  At this second, Jonathan's version of My Favourite Things.  Highly Fantastic!  It's making me want to get the hell up!

5.  Can I stress again that I wish the whole world could wake up to Devotchka the way that we do?  Put it on.  Get your coffee made.  Go!

I've heard some good things about Common, I'd love to hear me some. What are you listening to? Old stuff, the new one and what does it sound like? Let me know.

By the way, I know there are a lot of Iron and Wine fans one this board, I know they/he will record a new ep with Calexico which I'm looking forward to.

Maybe check out The Great Lake Swimmers in the meantime.
Their last two albums are soothing, relaxing, melancholy summertime music. Worth a listen.

I'm listening to the new one.  I didn't know him at all, but someone recommended it.  Some of the songs bug me a bit, some of it I'm just not into.  I can appreciate it, and I think it's good, but yeah, some stuff just isn't my thing.  And the big fucking thank you god for my life page drives me a little insane.

But the dude can rhyme.  I might give rapping a try some day soon.  I have a friend who does CRAZY freestyles.  That's something to aspire to.  :)

Thanks, and the thank God page is hilarious, you have to get over that... By the way one of my fav albums of all time is What's Going On by Marvin Gaye. There's a song on there that's called God Is Love  ::) But hey he could sing the telephone book and I would be listening!

Oh yeah,we have a popular band here that makes rap music and raps in the local west-flemish dialect, great stuff.
Might try to translate some of their stuff but maybe it wouldn't be as funny!
