Anyone pick this up? Paul's first release in 4 years (came out yesterday)...I grabbed it last night and its so comforting to hear good ol' Paul singing and playing for you. Just like a security blanket. Thoughts?

As far as Paul McCartney goes?  Absolutely.  There are some very different, and very cool sounds here (the lyrics, however, aren't that great...but i'll let it slide.  After all, he was in the beatles)

i never usually enjoyed his solo stuff from the 90's like "flaming pie" etc but this new album is fully endorsed by me...i enjoy it very much...and i can't really pinpoint why. the song "jenny wren" is simply magnificent and shows paul can still write some heart-wrenching yet joyful stuff. give it a chance, pick it up

I read an interview where Paul admimted that maybe he had been resting on his laurels.
Apparently producer Nigel Godrich (recommended by George Martin) didn't bullshit Paul & told him when the music was shit hence the return to form.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

yesssssssss dragonboy......i saw the actual documentary where Paul himself admits that Nigel Godrich (famous for his radiohead production and reccomended by the fifth beatle) had the balls to tell paul what songs he liked and which he didn't  like...i mean jesus friggin h who has the gumption to tell a BEATLE which songs suck?? either way the album is pretty good in my opinion
