Post by: CC on Dec 22, 2010, 05:25 PM
this is it...

the old forum (http://www.mymorningjacket.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.pl) will stay up for a a little while (read-only),
in case you need to save anything.

Interesting.  It will take some getting used to.  Thanks for the work, CC et al.  I see the subs for Tapings and Posters, and a new one for tickets.  Thanks for listening.  I hope it works as intended.  No "Marketplace", though.  We have a place for tix and posters, so that covers most issues.  Definitely need to get used to it.  Good work!!!

Nitpicky question:

I know that some installs of message boards don't come with the [media] BBCode installed. Is that the case here, or is it excluded by design? I can't post my webcam vids for everyone where I provide insight into issues no one cares about!

Im stoked. So I had to reset my password for the forum, but I also had to reset my password for my old email address. Pain in my ass with AT&T. Lalalalalala. I went about a year with just READING the forums and not posting anything. GLAD TO B BACK. The last time I posted I hadn't even seen MMJ in their splendor once! Now i have seen them TWICE.

So it looks like the new board has the option to start polls....How can we do that? I dont see an option to after I click on new topic.

Also - is there no way to try to transfer the threads from the other music section again?? I think once I get used to this I'll be fully on board with the new forum, but not having any thread that was started or posted in within the last year and a half not being there is a bummer.

Yea, 11 years in business and the place where everyone in my neighborhood knows each other closed by the crazy safety orange vest let me get hit by a someone biking on the sidewalk so i can make a citizens arrest while taking photos of the girls who work in the coffee shop and i drag my limped leg dog whom I'm trying to mate with pretty young dog around the block landlord. At this moment the only thing good coming out of it is hopefully not seeing that man everyday. Some changes are better than others!  :)

So, no general "Marketplace" section of the forum, for buy-sell-trade of all non-ticket merch?  I just ask as it was part of the original proposal supported by dozens of forum members.  I think the forum would be slightly improved if we can seperate the commerce from the commentary.

I know you listen to our ideas and appreciate the "Tickets" section.  Thanks for all you do for this forum and this band.
Title: Re: THE NEW FORUM

Awesome.  Thanks!

I think you're right that there is no real need for further changes at the moment.  And we're all getting used to the big changes to the forum, which I must say I like more and more each day.  I lost some PMs and posts to past threads, but its like the occasional purge of the email inbox- painful at first but a breath of fresh air and a clean slate!

I feel like this has only emerged in the last week or so, but someone else mentioned it in the NFL thread, so I know Im not the only one experiencing it. When quoting/replying to a post, if the post is larger than this white box you type in, when you start typing it jumps all the way up to the top of what you quoted, then back down to where you are typing with each letter you type. It sounds weird, but thats the best way I can explain it. It makes it impossible to highlight what you want to, difficult to see that you are typing what you want/spelling like a HS graduate, and overall just annoying.

Please fix it CC if you can figure out what Im talking about...TIA  :)

Hey Scotty, I think I know exactly what you're talking about.  There is a grey rectangle at the bottom of the text box.  If you click on it and drag down, it expands the text box and may eliminate the problem.  Its happened to me a few times but I couldn't quite figure out under what conditions it was happening.  See if that helps.

I typically use Internet Explorer. I didnt really notice it happening much until a week or 2 ago..Yac's rec definitely helps but I dont think it completely solves the problem because you can only expand the text box so much
Title: Re: THE NEW FORUM

Had a look through Explorer but everything works perfectly on my end. The box can also be expanded as much as you want. Maybe try another browser if it's really a problem.
