Werd em on up! :D
Stoked to finally have the guys here in the backyard.
If anyone needs any location questions answered, I am happy to help out.
I was starting to think they'd never come back here. So pumped up to have them back and I don't have to travel to see them. They were here years ago for Center City Fest, and I think maybe a headlining show at the Visulite at some point, but both were so long ago.. this is awesome.
Very excited about this one. Last time I saw them was HOB in myrtle beach a couple years ago. Hoping the Roll Call gives some great seats.
Im in, can't wait.
Any guess on when this show will start? I'm gonna have to drive back to Chapel Hill after for class the next day. No way I'm missing this though. Saw them in Cary last year, and it was amazing
NO TARHEELS ALLOWED!!! ;)
just kidding, seriously though, GO DUKE
and this show is great, now I only have to drive 10min
Cary was a bro fest :( I'm hoping the crowd will be better here in CLT. I saw Gov't Mule last year at Uptown, its a nice venue. Now I'm just debating whether to get presale tix or wait for general...

I was at the Mule show last yr, hope I can get seats as close as I was for that show for MMJ. This is a really cool venue, way better than Verizon.
I'm not seeing anything up on the live nation site about this show. They have shows listed that go on sale on 6/10, but not this one that goes on sale in less than a week
I'm pumped. born and raised the qc. I got treated like a bro in cary. Prob by the likes of some people on this forum. Really left a sour taste in my mouth considering I deserved to be there just like anyone else. expected more out of the fans. No ones bringing me down for this show. Don't care how many stink eyes I get. Go heels!
:) I'm in for Charlotte as well. Only 2 hours from home. For me this one is almost in my backyard. Hope to meet some of you there!
I saw online that most of the Roll Call presale start at noon. Any ideas? My friend joined Roll Call the other day, no email link yet.
Anyone doing the Roll Call Tix? Got the link today and excited to use it.
Is the link the only way to get the Roll Call Tix?? Is there a number to call or can you get at the venue as well??
Ill be getting Roll call tix tomorrow at noon. Crap....... another sleepless night. :-D
4 Hours until tickets go up....... I've been awake since 5. :D I'll throw some Family Guy or American Dad in to pass the time. YES! :)My Morning StraightJacket! :D " WRONG!! I'll tell you what I see....... It's a trip man" BWOOOOW!!!!. Hope everyone gets great tix!!
I'm in, and just cannot believe they're finally coming here! Hopefully I get my roll call link before noon. Should be some great meet-up venues, I'll have a crowd with me who will be MMJ virgins, looking forward to watching their faces get melted.
just picked up pit tix...nice
Just got section 102 seats, dead center--- Cant wait.
I got sec 102 row 8 seats 1-2. Can't wait to see yall there on my way back from topsail beach. Should be a great ending to a relaxing week.
I scored 7th row Section 102! Does anybody have hotel recommendations for the Charlotte area? I will be traveling down from the DC Area on Saturday August 20th. Thank you in advance.
WHooooooo hoooo!! Pit tix! Process was nice and easy. Roll call benefits have begun!

PB:
Uptown hotels are probably your best bet. They are now starting to run shuttles from uptown to the Music Factory (where the concert venue is).
YES!!!!!!!!!! OMG! PIT TIX FOR CHARLOTTE AND ALPHARETTA!!! :D :D :D :D This has got to be the luckiest day of my LIFE!!! :) The Roll Call page froze up on me AT 11:59 and wouldn't move for almost 90 minutes, :(THEN my phone wouldn't sign into Roll Call's page to buy tix either >:(and I had to show a contractor around the house AT NOON so I figured I lost out. :'( :'( :'( BUT........... The magic of MMJ PREVAILS! 90 minutes later the internet unfroze and the roll call page had saved the TIX FOR ME! And I got Georgia PIT too. I'm taking the rest of the day off to just GUSHH!!!!!!! Anyone hitting Charlotte (Alpharetta/Charlotte), please hit us up. We'd really LOVE to take in a couple shows with some new friends. Peace all. I hope you all got wonderful tickets today!
According to the seating chart, front row starts at row 6. So I have row 7, so should be second row behin the Pit. And we are right in the middle, so should be great.

CONGRATS!!!!!!! See you there!
Didn't sign up for Roll Call but I'm hoping to have good luck with the general TM sale! And yes... Very syked that I don't have to travel to Myrtle Beach to see MMJ. (No offense to MB.)
Of course if anyone has Sec. 102 tickets they need to sell, let me know....

Did you get pit or lawn tix for that show? I was about two people away from the stage at that show, and I didn't notice any bros. Buuuuuut it was my first MMJ show so I might have been to mesmerized to notice. :D
Woo hoo! Row 11 center so 6 rows behind the pit! My GF has never seen them before so I'm hoping she gets hooked... So far she thinks they're "a little too slow" but I suspect the live experience will change her mind....
Wow, so I was out at 10 am this morning but 2 1/2 hours into an onsale I can still buy 10th row seats. Yikes.
I had Sec 102 Row 8 seats but got FUCKED over when Live Nation "couldn't process my request" for whatever effing reason. >:( I got through the security check and everything but when I went to select my ticket delivery method I got the error.
I ended up with 103 Row 11 seats 3-5. Not too bad, but not as good as what these bastards screwed me out of. I guess I should just be grateful that MMJ is coming to my city and I won't have to travel 3+ hours to see them.
Its not bad enough that they're raping people with $12.85 services fees, they also gotta screw fans out of tickets they deserve. I'm fed up with ticket bastard/live nation. I feel a boycott coming on.... beginning 8/22/11 of course
I have 2 pit tix I am willing to trade for Sec 102 row 6 or 7 or so. Let me know via text:

Live Nation has never gotten me good seats no matter how many times they promise it to be different. They're also kinda crappy when it comes to shipping out merch too. Glad you got tix though and hope to see you there!
I just did a search for tickets just for the hell of it and there are still tickets available in my row, which tells me this show isn't selling too well since I got my tickets first thing saturday morning :(
This is why we don't get a whole lot of good shows in Charlotte. I guess the city is just a little too "mainstream."
Me and three others are coming up from Raleigh! Too fuckin stoked! We'll bring our bonnaroo spirits with us to the show for damn sure :D
As for the tix, still looks like alot are available. Im going to tryn 'convert' some more ragin' friends to mmj and get em to come with as well ha
either way, for those of us who are here, we're gonna have a hell of a time!
:dankk2: mmj
Is this place similar to Koka Booth Amphitheatre as far as layout of the large pit section, then sections 101, 102, and 103 are kind of away from the stage where you feel somewhat disconnected? I mean we had pit tix at Koka and even though we were on the back of the pit, I still felt fairly close, but when I would go to the john (which seemed to be forever away there) it seemed as though everything else was disconnected from the concert and those other folks were kind of detached from the action - maybe it was just me?
I keep searching "ticketmassah" and finding random tix in each of the 101, 102, and 103 sections over the past month or so and haven't pulled the trigger yet.

This place is half that size, you can't have a bad seat in this place. It only holds a few thousand and even the lawn is like being in the shed at most ampitheaters (tho there is no shed).
Can we start a please play Steam Engine petition? I've never heard it live and would love to at this show.
9 days out and really starting to get excited for this one!
For you out of towners making the trek. Here is a great spot for your pre and post show experience. Someone mentioned it elsewhere as I recall, but VBGB is literally 100 ft from the ampitheater's entrance. Great spot! http://vbgbuptown.com/ (http://vbgbuptown.com/)
Im so stoked! I will be more than pleased with whatever treats we are delivered *cough Strangulation*, but hopefully they dont scratch Day Is Coming. I missed that gem in Santa Barbara, and after 9 years of waiting for a Charlotte MMJ show, I can only imagine the spine tingling when the Yimster belts out 'The Day Is Here'.
Stoked!

All I did was show up at the box office with a photo ID at Merriweather. They even printed all six of my tix together consolidated under one credit card number I guess.

I'm sure every venue is different and I went 4 hours before the show so nobody was there. There was not a separate line.
My only Roll Call experience thus far was Montreal. I had my email printed out, my Roll Call membership card, -HELL- even my passport, but they just wanted my photo ID/license. The Boston RC email says bring your print-out, so better safe than sorry.
my buddy and i are visiting a friend in charleston and will hit the show on our way back home. whats the venue like? any cool places to eat and drink before hand? is there a lot we tailgate?
Bumping this as we get closer! I feel like a kid with Christmas coming up. Can't wait for the show, and PLEASE play Steam Engine!!!!! Haven't had the experience of hearing this one live, i've only seen them twice though.

Diesel:
The Uptown Music Factory area is a pretty cool spot. There are several places to eat and drink there. The Saloon is pretty good, and there's even an old-timey diner. My suggestion would be VBGB. It's a beer garden, and they have good food there as well. Plus if you get there early enough, there's a huge adjacent back patio where you'll be able to hear the soundcheck.
Parking is free and ample and there are tons of spots in the three lots to tailgate. Here's the Web site of it all:
http://www.ncmusicfactory.com/ (http://www.ncmusicfactory.com/)
I need one extra pit ticket for Charlotte. Im willing to pay face for it. Im taking a first timer and I want to make sure her face melts.
Thanks
Anyone know what the VIP club access is for the show? Live nation is selling for25 bucks and says it is not a ticket. What do you get?
The Fillmore Charlotte and Uptown Amp are connected. They use the VIP area of the Fillmore for Amp shows as well, so you'd have private access to the VIP bar area. Hope that helps.

Thats about it though, the bar section is off to a pretty bad angle, so I'd say save yer money. The bar and table service are it, but you will want to move for the show.
I gotta say, as a long time lover of Phish (30+ shows spanning the last 15 years), it is refreshing to see a fan base like MMJ's. I can feel the fervor! And it makes me very, VERY excited for Sunday's show.....it's been awhile since I was this excited to see a show. Looking forward to having my MMJ cherry popped. Me thinks I may need to call in sick Monday morning.....
As for those asking about cool spots before the show, other than the bars next to the ampitheatre (VBGB Beer Garden), you can always hit up some of the more chill bars uptown (Phil's Tavern, Connelly's, RiRa's), all of which are a quick 5 minute cab ride (or shuttle ride?) to the show. 48 hours and counting till the fun begins!!!

Thank you for this info! If you park here to eat and drink can you then just walk to the show? Wasn't sure how close it was.
They must have released some tickets today. A buddy picked up some today around row 10 and I picked up one in row 7.
I've been to the venue 3 times now (went last night for Slightly Stoopid/Rebelution). Really nice venue and has sounded great each time i've been there. Not a bad seat in there even in the lawn since it's a smaller amphitheatre. Never been to the bars/restaurants around it but theres a nice big parking lot right at the venue and parking is free. We've been told no tailgating before but i've never seen that enforced.
Looking like it may rain there tomorrow, 60% chance.
I have a free ticket (2nd row PIT) for anyone who wants to go with me from Charleston or anywhere on the way. My friend bailed last minute. I'm a 22 year old guy, recent graduate from Penn State University.
email me if interested: sjg5100@gmail.com
Yeah calling for rain most of the day in Charlotte tomorrow. Not good!
If it rains, it will make it that much better. I saw a show in the rain there a couple of years ago, and it was no big deal. Just come dressed for it and you'll be fine.
So excited they're back in Charlotte, I was up at 6 AM thinking about it. This is going to be stellar.
Also, no real expectations, there's a lot of songs I'd like to hear.. but Evil Urges or Highly Suspicious would make my night. I'd say Touch Me part 2, but that appears to be a staple on recent setlists. That's probably my favorite live MMJ song. I'm sure I won't be disappointed either way.
went to get a couple of extra tickets this afternoon. Saw Jim walking down the sidewalk, we waved, he waved. It was awesome. Carry on.
Hey I can't find my email receipt from Roll Call for the tickets for tonight. We just pick up at the ticket window, right? If someone could share the instructions, that'd be awesome. Thanks!

The Venue is in a complex called the Uptown Music Factory. There are several bars and restaurants to choose from right there in the complex. There are a ton of great places nearby in the downtown area (officially called 'Uptown') but you have to find parking. I'd suggest trying your luck at the venue. That's what we're going to try to do.
Thanks a bunch. We are staying at aloft hotel and will be heading over there soon.

It does suck that that the delay had to happen. I don't think it was rain per se, as I've seen shows in the rain there before. There was a lot of thunder and lightning. The setlist was shorter than most, but the boys made up for it in their performance. The only disappointment was seeing one of my favs cut, Mahgeetah, but that doesn't take away the great time we had. The setlist on Tweetpicles had a setlist that was constructed after they made the delay decision, so who knows what we would have gotten. I really felt they chose to focus on concert staples instead of Circuital songs, so that made me happy. There was no encore break.. they did all they could, and definitely brought the house down. Not disappointed.

They really did, but then again I've never seen them half ass it.
absolute bullshit having to stop @ 11, but given what they had to work with, these guys bust out yet another incredible fucking show, they can't control the weather, they can't control the law, but they sure know how to rock, obviously won't be topping my list of shows, but kudos to the fellas for bringing it
Excellent (albeit short) show. Jim was magic and I'm selling everything I own to see every other show on this tour now. (LOL) The crowd was nice, but the band was SMOKIN!!!!!!!!!! People were dancing, singing and being swept away. I missed hearing "Wonderful, Outta my system and The way that he sings", but I ain't complaining. A night standing soaked to the bone watching MMJ tear it up is better than a good day at the beach. This band is going to save REAL music. Watch.

How true is this???? The clouds parted tonight just long enough for the band to come out, play their set and as soon as the show was over it started pouring again!!!!!!!!! MMJ is magic.
MMJ in Charlotte  - amazed that they finally returned. Wonder if they ever be back?
