Why is my timing off? I'll be in California 2 weeks before this show. If only.....oh can't go back again 2 weeks later :embarrassed:
It's cool that they're playing there again but I'm very bummed I'll miss BSB this year. It's the first BSB I've missed since 1998.
I'd also like to see Heart and Queens of the Stone Age and Jenny Lewis and Elvis Costello.
Sigh.
The good news for us east coasters is that there will be a live stream. The quality of last year's stream was pretty good (GNR wasn't) and only 5 dollars a night. I'm sure they'll offer something similar this year. This year's lineup is a huge upgrade.

While I'm bummed I'm going to miss BSB this year, I disagree with this. MMJ, Heart, Jenny Lewis, Elvis Costello, and Queens of the Stone Age should be terrific. But fun. is one of the worst bands on the planet. And last year's Neil was with Crazy Horse while this year's is CSNY. I'll take Neil & CH over CSNY any time.
Last year's lineup also included Jack White, The Flaming Lips, Guns N' Roses (bad on Saturday but better on Sunday), Sarah McLachlan, Lucinda Williams, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, k.d. lang and the Siss Boom Bang, and Gary Clark Jr. Foster The People provided a nice break so folks could get some food/drink and take a bathroom break. I was there last year and had a great time at the shows.
It's all good. Everyone has their opinions. I thing the Lips are lame and I prefer the White Stripes over Jack's solo stuff. Adding MMJ and Elvis Costello into a lineup with CSNY and the Killers is pretty solid imo. Obviously the Horse is better than CSNY, but Neil can play with a high school band and I'm going to love it.
I like the Flaming Lips and the Killers do nothing for me whatsoever. Too bad for you that you prefer the White Stripes to Jack solo...cause I doubt very much the White Stripes will ever be a band again. Like you said...everyone has their opinions.
I guess what it comes down to is that MMJ is on the lineup and that makes it great!
Hoping for another 3 day/no repeats run announcement this week. It was one year ago this week that PC was announced.
Which will it be? Louisville, KY or Port Chester, NY . I'm hoping for PC, but my gut is telling me KY.
I think the lineup is awesome - with the exception of fun. I'll be in the bar during their set.
Tom Waits has been added to the Sunday lineup.
Tom Waits!!! this is killing me
Sweet! Gonna try to make Sunday.
Tix for both shows in the mail yesterday. Row c section 103 on Sunday for Tom Waits. I hope to post some goood stuff!

Hey ms. y - Hope to see you that Saturday! I have 2 seats (row V) and 2 lawn tix I'll sell cheap if you're still looking.
bought my plane tix today! gonna throw in a trip to my fave taqueria in san jose: la victoria.
for shoreline amphitheater rookies: make sure you get the GOOD garlic fries. there are some poser g. fries there that will break your heart.
(why is this post so much about snax?)
The Killers have pulled out of Saturday's show and have been replaced by Jack Johnson. Don't know if that makes a difference to some of you.
Goddamn, now Arcade Fire added to Saturday! This lineup has turned out to be pretty spectacular.
Arcade Fire was great at Bridge a couple years ago. They played an awesome version of Helpless with Neil Young.
I'll be there Sunday. Wish Arcade Fire was on the Sunday bill as well, but maybe this means a longer MMJ set!
Still can't comprehend how QOTSA is higher on the bill than MMJ.

202 so practically on the lawn but at least in the center. A friend has some 203 row T seats he's trying to sell if you know anyone who needs them. They are towards the center.
even the last row in the pavilion at Shoreline is significantly more enjoyable than the lawn.
Anybody know shoreline well? I have 202 row Y. Every map I've found has X as the last row.
Also, probably going to sell one of the days. Face value if anybody's interested.
Going Saturday. So excited. Would love an Arcade Fire/MMJ collabo, but I'm not holding my breath.

Toward the back of some of the sections, they only run part way across to adjust for disabled seating, so maybe it's one of the partial rows?
NEXT WEEKEND! :cheesy:
FREE STREAM on 10/26. Last years show was 6 dollars a night.

Sunday usually gets out around 10.
Sat peeps
Can we meet at The Deck at some point during the show?
I know quite a few of you, but I think we need a meet up overall! What say you Bridge peeps to a post fun./pre Diana Krall meet up at the Deck ?? I think that's our only chance. I LOVE Heart so that timeframe's totally not doable. What thinks, y'all?

Any idea when MMJ will be on?
I am so excited for those who are going to this. It's always been a dream of mine to attend, and what a lineup this year! Thrilled that once again this will be available to watch via streaming. I know what I'm doing this weekend!
can someone with the capability PLEEEAAASSSEE try and record these on their computer?
I would be soooo grateful (and i'm sure the whole board would be as well)
Is Sunday being streamed?
Sounds like streaming is Saturday only starting at 5:00 PM Pacific. The schedule is not up on the bridge school site. Hopefully they'll update it tomorrow. Their You Tube channel says Sunday's Tom Waits will be broadcast and viewing will be doable Monday - Wednesday as well.

Brilliant idea making the stream free... More viewers = more donors (you gotta do it). How can you watch this and not donate (or have teary eyes )? So inspirational, such a great cause, great event and great experience for all...bands, students, fans. Talk about a win win.
Nice surprise that they didn't roll out their typical acoustic numbers and went acoustic on songs I've never heard that way.

Twas well done. Kicked off the more energetic segment of the night just right.
Stand up, old people!
Neil sitting in almost brings a tear to my eye. Wish I was there SO badly right now.
Jesus Christ how good did that version of 'Harvest Moon' sound?! After Ben Keith died, Neil said he'd never play this song with a band again. And here he is, playing it with MMJ. Just amazing.

Oh that was beautiful
Great to see Crosby & Stills giving Jim some love at the end. It almost looked like Crosby gave Jim a fist bump and said "You're the man." & Jim said, "No you're the man"
Loved the set. I like when bands change up arrangements once in a while, or like last night do them acoustic. The HM with Neil was a highlight but I really liked Victory Dance and I'm Amazed too. Nice to see them do a Guthrie tune, and Carl's picking and slide on that was awesome!
It really was amazing. Can't believe I am saying that with a set that consisted of JUST Circuital, VD and I'm Amazed. But you guys saw it, it was great. I wound up making my way down to the front row which was SO not the right thing to do but it was calling me...no one was sitting there! A bit later in the show the security guards started following me around but I was able to see MMJ up close and personal so it was worth it. Met the adorable Woodnymph and got to hang out with Jaye and Tubetop for a bit. Sad to miss tonight, which is sure to be more than just the radio songs. Ah, well...it was superb and I had a great time. Left half way thru CSNY and still got home at 2am. After getting home at 1am Friday night after seeing Deer Tick, this chiquita is spent!

No, unless you count the finale, when everyone came out.
I love the story about Jim and his mom confusing Harvest with Harvest Moon. Funny, sincere and touching all at the same time. Jim is a great soul and its not surprising to me that MMJ is the band that Neil chose to sit in with and that Crosby and Stills gave him props at the end. That's mutual respect from musicians who are a cut above most of the crappy music today.
CC-thanks so much!

I missed this part last night and just saw it. Wow all those smiles and big hugs! I would love to know what they said to Jim. And of course Patrick lingering on the stage talking to the kids is just so sweet.
Am I doing something wrong? When I connect to the Bridgeport live link feed, I just hear static. It's playing, but I don't see anything...friend texted me saying they were on now. :( any help appreciated. Thanks!!
No stream for today's show unfortunately. Last night's is still on youtube though.
Thank you! :)

Wow, what a great performance. Jim must have been in heaven, alongside Lou, jamming with Neil at the end.
Thanks for posting the video and to whomever took it.
Good lord, what an awesome video. Thank you for posting!
Speaking of Neil collaborations, I've listened to "Harvest Moon" about twenty times now and it's only getting better. This might be the best and most restrained I've heard the Jacket sound in years. HOW GOOD are Jim, Carl and Bo's harmonies?!? Towards the end of the night one performance, right after Neil rips his harmonica fill, you can see him give Jim a huge smile, like "Holy shit, this sounds fantastic!"
And does it ever.
Sounds like some awesome stuff over the weekend. The Harvest Moon video was special. Looking forward to watching the rest of it. Thanks CC.
Thanx in advance to whoever chops this up to MP3

I agree with this zan!
Unfortunately, this one is still on my bucket list of songs to see MMJ perform live?! I was hoping I would've been able to cross it off at their run at the Capitol, but sadly it didn't get played any of those 3 nights... :undecided:
Another Sweet Nuthin' video surfaced - side view, decent sound most of the time. What I like about this one is that you can see Carl who got cut off for the most part on the other videos I've seen - he played a mean slide throughout. But poor Bo is completely hidden behind the organ in the foreground.
