The band has come a long way since the Gypsy Tea Room days! Looking forward to taking my little brother to his first MMJ concert!

Coming up from Houston since they're skipping it this time around
I will be there. Man the gypsy show were the best.
Too bad it's at Verizon.
So there are pit tickets online aftermarket right now. Is it a standing GA setup?

Yes, standing GA pit.
Haven't done GA at a MMJ show yet. Does being a roll call member allow early entry for GA seating? How soon do you have to get there? We are driving from KC so standing will likely feel pretty nice by the time we get there. BTW, I am already a roll call member and I seem to recall something about early entry to GA seating areas.
I did GA for Red Rocks and I'm doing GA for the Grand Prairie show as well. Roll Call got me in early then and I anticipate using it here too
I'll be there, coming up Saturday morning after seeing them in Austin Friday night

dub, I'm with you on those Gypsy shows, I caught them from 2004-2006 but missed one that last year when I didn't have the sense to do both nights of the two-night run.
Oh man, that 2 night set in 2006 was awesome. I was on the rail in front of Jim, got his pick. Yes, I am a 17 year old girl.
I have a setlist from night 1. Good times.
So I was planning to drive in from KC and just for kicks I checked flights on Southwest and found round trip for the wife and me, under $100 each! Found a rental car for under $25 as well! Now I am really looking forward to the show! Can't say I will miss the drive on I-35 either.
Anybody got an extra bedroom near Dallas Love Field? I can bring you some KC BBQ sauce...

This venue is way too big for them. It was half empty back in 2011. It's been a great run of shows so far but it's so much better when you don't look back and see 2500 empty seats. No idea why they chose to play here again.
The '11 show is by far my least favorite Jacket show simply because of this reason.

i will now be there as well!
look forward to see all yall there!!
saturday hurry up!
What time are yall planning on going out there?
bringing 3 w/me. It's gonna be the in-laws first MMJ show. I took them to Jim's solo tour (they thought that was loud hehe).
I have an extra pit ticket for Dallas that I am selling for face value if anyone is interested.
if anyone has seats up front near jims side, i will trade you my 2 seats in Sec 201 + Red Rocks 2015 poster
I have (4) GA tickets for sale at face value to the Dallas show. I will be in Austin this weekend and can't use them. Fortunately I'm catching the Austin show on Friday.
so i know this is a long shot, but MMJ does not have a halloween show this year and this is the closest one to it....wonder if theyll pull out a weird one?

Someone on the MMJ board over on PT has a couple for face. I don't know them or if they'll sell one but you can check if out.

Enjoy Dallas! Report back. Seems the boys are on a roll. The multi-night run setlists have been rich and deep. Hoping, for this one night stand, you get a nice mix of staples and deep cuts.

i wonder what thse mystery crossouts are...
I bet whoever has the setlist could hold it up to the light and see...
:undecided:
PS- were there subs for those songs or were the just scratched...?
One scratch out is definitely Smokin', which is a shame because I love that fucking song.
And there were no subs either. Still a really killer show though. Despite the mall cop that kept trying to start problems in the pit, we still had loads of fun rocking out with our new buds.
War Begun! What is Wild Hiney?
Safe travels to everybody driving home throughout the state.
Wild Honey???
Beach Boys?
Edit: nevermind.... It's a Fruits Bats cover
Ha sorry typo yeah Wild Honey thanks. On that note does anybody know where to find the Fruit Bats set lists for these openers? I think they said they played some newer ones that sounded great so I would like to find out the song titles. Also, how cool is the fruit bats keyboardist?! Loved the crowd pointing and background dance type moves he brought!
great show! was unfortunate to be in the one section where people sat down and people probably hated me for jammin, but HOW CAN YOU NOT? youre there to see the greatest band in the world, get up and jam for Gods sake. That being said it was the best dondante i had seen (besides ATL 1) and finally got my "hell". Thin Line a lot better live also

Hey tipptoes22. Sorry, it must have been another Derek. I have never been to Milwaukee. I don't have any other shows on the books for this year, but I'm sure we will run into each other on the road.

Both cross outs are spectacular white whales I was hoping for! I suppose I'll just have to keep going to more shows now :)
I was wondering if maybe they were going to have Eric (from Fruit Bats) come out for one or both songs that got scratched, and if that had anything to do with it... It seems weird to scratch a song that early in the set if they were worried about time

Mall cop? Are you referring to the troll complaining about 'stans' on another thread or someone else? I was front and center so didn't get to see a lot of the crowd but I apologize for any problems I may have caused by getting too hyped!!

Nah, it was this guy that claimed he was a cop when people started sparking up but then wouldn't do anything to stop a fight that was happening maybe 6 feet away from him. I was right there with you getting crazy hyped though, it was almost impossible not to be!!!
We had a similar experience with a power tripping rent-a-cop outside the venue in Austin the night before... Trying to get our drink on (discreetly, out of soda cups) while waiting in line and this dude comes up and asks what's in my cup... I guess he didn't believe me that it was apple juice because he took it out of my hand, smelled it and then told us he wasn't gonna let us in, and that he was going to get back up... After getting a real cop as backup, this douche comes back out and lectures us all about breaking the rules and ruining the whole concert for everyone, but the real cop behind him looked bored and annoyed the whole time!
These are the types of people that need to pay more attention to the gospel of Jim James!

cops at dallas saw me and a couple buddies lighting up in the outside smoking section, nodded and smirked, and turned away. just depends on who you get unfortunately

Interesting/disappointing about the scratched songs. Definitely not due to curfew...the ROS was posted at the bars as 9:10-11:30, and the show ended at 11:15. Honestly I think they were just tired and ready to get off the road. It was obvious their performance effort was at about 85%. Not to mention the venue was almost half empty...upper deck wasn't even open. Can't blame them for being slightly unmotivated when a market that size can't' come close to selling out a Saturday night show. Before you start flaming me, I'm not saying it was a bad show. It was still an incredible rock show and worth every penny. Just not in the upper echelon of what MMJ is capable of. Anyone who is a realist and has seen a few MMJ shows will agree.
