I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's last night. I forgot how much I loved that movie. It had been, like, five years since I'd seen it last. I was crying at the end; it was a total girl moment.  :-[

But...

the original short story is still better.

The Descent - a creepy, scary and claustrophobic British horror flick (from the director of the underrated Dog Soldiers)

Little Miss Sunshine - excellent, endearing and hilarious

Strangers With Candy - amateurish comedy and a total waste of time and talent

Yeah I just saw the Descent too.  I thought it was pretty good, (didn't expect much) but entertaining.  Now Dog Soldiers really surprised me, that I thought was very good.

I admire many aspects of The Descent. I like that it was a woman-led horror film and was scary on at least two or three levels. I also thought that the acting was good with solid build-up and character development. I also thought the film avoided overt horror cliches - except for the cocky gun-ho climber that broke her leg early on. The ending was great too. Not a masterpiece, but it certainly is a worthy modern horror film that doesn't play its audience like fools.

Dog Soldiers kicks ass. It pays homage to early Sam Raimi and Cronenberg (amongst a few other famous genre pics) and is a lot of fun.

Nope. I meant the original Dawn Of The Dead. It still resonates after all these years (although Night of the Living Dead is the best zombie movie ever made): http://www.allmovie.com/cg/avg.dll?p=avg&sql=1:12579~T1

I'm going to go against the grain here & say I really didn't care for it.
All of the characters were so unlikable I just didn't give a shit whether they lived or died.

Rocky Balboa - the first part of the film was very, very good, both surprisingly funny & touching.
The fight was just plain stupid.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Jaimoe

The Last Kiss - a pretty well written and acted anti-relationship film (or spot-on relationship movie)

Superman Returns - if the film had more scenes with Spacey, it would have kicked ass. But it was still a decent movie.

Thanks I´ll check it out.

Saw Black Hawk Down yesterday. Great Movie.
But have you ever seen Band Of Brothers? One of the best things I´ve ever seen! A friend of mine gave me the DVD-Box but I didn´t really want to watch it. But after the first episode I wanted to watch all ten episodes on one day... ;D

One of the greatest things ever produced for "TV". As a Canadian who's sensitive and proud of all the Allied Forces involvement in WWI and II, I loved that the series didn't hammer anyone over the head with US jingoism - which it could have easily and forgivably done. Band Of Brothers is better and more important than Saving Private Ryan because it's about real people and real events (I haven't seen the two new Eastwood movies... yet). Some of the best characters die. That's war.

Yeah that´s true and Damian Lewis (Winters) looks like Josh Homme! lol
But I was also surprised to see David Schwimmer.
I was really touched by the episode where they found the concentration camp. I think I have to see Life Is Beautiful again. Great movie!

Winters does indeed look like Homme. Schwimmer was good playing a bastard. I hate Friends, but he was good in this. I also became a Donnie Wahlberg fan.

Yeah the original is excellent.
Rule of thumb, when a movie is remade always go with the original  ;)
That said, I can't wait to see The Departed!

Saw Snakes on a Plane and Pirates of the Caribbean tonight. Enjoyed both movies. I wasn´t disappointed at all! So I had a great evening. :)
