Anyone know what that really nice and simple chord progression on the second half of "Steam Engine" (you know, when the "take your money and your drugs" part kicks in) is?

Does anyone know "I Needed it Most"?

yax

I posted an updated capo6 version of I Will Be There When You Die, as well as Lowdown and Phone Went West at www.altcountrytab.com. There's been some other people posting MMJ songs pretty regularly there as well.

Enjoy,
Porter

May I also(or again) point out that there are 9 tabs of the jacket on the site www.powertabs.net.  It would be nice to hear some comment on these songs.  I think they're pretty accurate.  You first have to download the free software to play the tabs.

well that didn't format correctly but with the chords and listening to the song you'll get it anyway i guess.

lfish

Thx for the nice work!

Ok for all the powertabfans amongst us (for those who don't know this: It's about time you did) I've uploaded "O is the one that is real". Enjoy it and if you pop by would you give any comment?  It would be great for my future tabbings.

PS. Now it's still standing in the waiting list but in a few days it will be approved and be placed in the my morning jacket directory

Ok it's on! Right now I'm working on one big holliday, including the solo's, but I don't know if I'm gonna  be able to tab the whole solo very accurate. I'll see. Feel free to give me any advice and if there are any suggestions for a particular song to be tabbed, just let me know.

Ok I never thought I could pull this off but I did.  I tabbed completely One Big Holliday, solo's included.  It's just amazing how simple the guitarsolo's are. And it sounds just like the real thing. Every moderate guitarist can play the jacket.  So the story is familiar: I've put the song on www.powertabs.net and within a few days it should be accessible for all of you.

I think I must be crazy puttin' all of my free time in this tabbing.
lfish

nonesuch

it's appreciated :)

nonesuch

oh yeah, i have just a small gripe with your 'o is the one that is real tab', you have this as the outro riff :

e----------------------------
b----8b-7--------7-----------
g---------9--7-9-------------
d----------------------------
a----------------------------
e----------------------------

i think it sounds more like:

e----12b-11------------11----
b-----------14--12-14--------
g----------------------------
d----------------------------
a----------------------------
e----------------------------

or am i going crazy ?

lfish

I don't think that your change is right.  If you play your riff along with the song, you will notice that you are playing in a different key.  If you play my riff along with the song, it is hmmm "perfect".  But thx for the tip. It is worth checking it out, because I know that my tabs aren't 100% correct? If you have other comment, just let it flow.
lfish

nonesuch

heh..just listened to it again, and both riffs are playing in harmony, the lower(in pitch) one is mixed left, the other right
i'd bet my life on it ;)

lfish

Well if you would have done the bet, I think you are death by now.  I've just filled in your riff into the powertab of O is the one that is real and it sounds terrible.  Your riff is played in a different key, namely B minor while that part of the riff (my riff) is played in key D major, which is the key of the song.

Just try it out and let me know.  :)
