2 Microphones

Has it been talked about why Jim has 2 mics on stage now.  Is one full of sweet reverb and the other without?  I was just curious if anyone saw the shows when does he switch back and forth between the 2 mics.
If you don't know for yourself, how could you ever know for me....

i wondered about that, too.  i see that done more and more often these days - devotchka were doing it - i think i might've seen andrew bird doing it?  it's a good effect and gives you clean and fx options.  one's usually for heavy reverb, the other for a drier sound.

Anytime I've ever seen a singer with dual mics it's just as you described it. One is a "clean" channel and the other has some sort of effect on it.
