I love listening to them sing together.  She played the autoharp...  I actually have a big girlcrush on June.  And I loved reading Johnny talk about her in his autobiography.

Ok, that one's on my reading list now!

Girlcrush and manlove... Those are great words too, and they're very popular here.

Admit it, this hard-boiled duo could be on TV rightaway:
Starsky and Hutch, Dempsey and Makepeace... Girlcrush and Manlove.

QuoteGirlcrush and Manlove
They sound like superheroes!

Chills

Yeah, they do.
I could write a script about them fighting the conservative morality in small-town America...
I'm sure liberal Hollywood would pick this up  :D

Dude, fuck Hollywood.  We can make a movie with our cell phones, and edit it on our computers.  Let's do it!

Chills

Yeah! Right on. The last line (and the emotional highlight) of the first episode (where our heroes ponder on themselves, their morality and their superpowers, but are eventually redeemed) would evidently be:

"We overcame self-doubt and kicked its ass!"

SO WICKED!!  girlcrush and manlove, on a mission to save the world from naysayers and normalcy.  They must go through an emotional journey so that everyone can watch it and relate to it as they deal with such issues as: gay marriage, religion, smoking pot, listening to pirated music (just kidding).  girlcrush sinks into an inner depression and doesn't leave  her house for months.  manlove shows his confusion through anger and gets in lots of bar brawls.  But everyone knows that it's just their own inner issues that are causing them to react this way.

Perhaps we should get the guys who made Team America, and make it a puppet movie.  My Morning Jacket can do the soundtrack, hopefully, if they're not too busy with their world domination tour.

I think we have a major hit, Chills.  This will definitely make us enough money to fly to London and see the shows!!

Get your bling bling on, Brian!!

Chills

 :D

Awesome...
I'm calling Bill Gates for sponsoring (and a cameo as Manlove's intellectually challenged but devilishly handsome love-intrest who needs to be saved from the repressive macho world of computer software)

Then I'll retire.

Brilliant.  When you're talking to Bill, could you ask him why my excel program has been acting so badly lately?  Also, let him know that we'll have a sleeve-checker on site at all times with eyes on the lookout for mustard stains.  Kind of like J-Lo's nipple tweaker.

I think I'm going to retire near the ocean.  I'll have a herb garden and a music room that rivals Mark Mothersbaugh's.

Chills

ha, I'll ask about your Excell, he'll know.

Seriously, this thread has derailed in the biggest amount of nonsense I've ever read (or wrote).

It'll get only back to normal when I update about eventual further ticket problems...

For now I'll wonder about my idea of paradise. It's great, but I won't elaborate on the details  :)

EC

(Does it involve a great amount of manlove? ;))

Yes.  Derailed.

London shows.  Go to them if you can.  And make sure that you write heavily about them.

Same goes for Newport this weekend!!

No it doesn't. I'm the essence of normalcy.
Girlcrush and Manlove would thoroughly dislike me.  :)

Ok.
I can go, and my brother and a friend want
to go along! So far, so good.

Still a problem. This ticketmaster site seemingly only sends tickets to the UK for the solo show.
No international possibilities and no possibility to pick 'em up at the venue. At least I didn't find it.
I hope I'll be able to order by just calling them...

For the Scala show, there's the option to send the tickets overseas or a venue pick-up. I'd like to have some tickets in my hand before leaving to London, but just picking them up at the venue might be considerably cheaper.

I promised I'd organize everything ::) so I can't fuck up!

Might try to settle this tonight or tomorrow.
Any advice by more experienced travellers and ticket buyers is welcome.

Hey Chills, Why don't I get the tickets for you and post them to your home? You could PM me your address. I'll PM you mine to show good faith.

I can vouch for doctorinthehouse and her good faith.

Lady, you're so awesome.  Chills, I would take her up on this.  I swear on everything that I know, this woman can be trusted.

God I love stuff like that.  Sooooo goooooooood!!!

Way to be a hero.  :)

Chills

FUCK. OFF.  That is so awesome, holy crap.

Man, what is so special about London that they get all of the special events?!  ;)

That's really cool.  I now have to amend my email to my London pals.  They're going to be very busy!! :)

Chills

I could probably attend this, cause I'm thinking about a three or four days visit.
Check this out, this stuff seems to be too good to be true:

"This city bar has an excellent music policy, friendly staff and delicious food and cocktails. Home to many a star-studded occasion, it is the ideal spot for celebrity spotting. Expect classic tunes old and new, a crowded and well-dressed dance-floor, and an atmosphere of extravagant hedonism."

Looks like my kinda place  8)
Except for that well-dresed part. I'll have to make an effort  :)

EC

I was gonna say - what does that mean?  Well-dressed dance floor.  Does the dance floor wear its best pants?  ;)

groooan.

I hope you go, Chills!!!

I should go, I'm into extravagant hedonism.
And it's only 110 pounds for a bottle of Dom Perignon 1995  :D.
Ha, seriously, this trip will become a financial disaster  :o
But it's a stylish way to get broke!
