Ive got an EVIL plan babe

Thanks Johnbky,

You got me.  I'm there.  What was I thinking?
Just cause it starts off slow babe, doesn't mean I  don't have evil urges.

folded_fawn

I'm definitely there.

I am looking forward to the Louisville show. Does anyone have two extra tickets that they want to sell as well?

hello yalls
for the folks who have never been to lville, it is a fun city..if not for the highlands and 4th street, however, the city would be worthless and sketchy...but those two areas make it fun for me (because i live in lexington and it sucks)...but i noticed how tix are more expensive for this show than the others..i havnt researched as to why this is, but they must be planning something special (a longer set possibly).  but if anyone has any thoughts on this, by all means share....(sorry if this has been discussed in a previous thread)

i live in lexington too AND it majorly SUCKS...that is probably why the boys never play here (and b/c all the venues suck except the Dame)...however this is just a guess but i would say it is more expensive because it is at The Palace

yeah, i've seen some good shows at the dame (iron and wine, and some other guys i know who are in bands around here), but other than that lex sucks (aside from uk athletics that is).  i was one of about 5 people that saw this band at the phoenix ballroom on short st. and that was a cool place...i dont know what's happened to it since, but i wish that place would have developed a little more...hopefully mmj gets big enough to play rupp in the future because that's the only other place to go in lex(although i saw dmb there in '98 and it was one of the worst venues i've been to for a concert)

Someone asked earlier "why is this show so much more expensive than the others?"

Come on gang, I know we're all jonesin' for some MMJ, but I believe many have overlooked the fact that the #3 band from Louisville, VHS or Beta, will be opening up for them!!!  Slint being #2 in my humble opinion...anyone else backing me up here or want to object?

All in all, a complete show, two GREAT bands that are best seen live and even better when seen together.  And for it to be at The Palace of all places?!  It might as well be in heaven.  Hmmm...now THAT would be an interesting theme!  Who knows what they'll come up with for the event, but rest assured, they will deliver.

A little over 15 bones for each band...I consider it a privelage to have a ticket (especially the pair I got in the PIT!!!).

WoRd.

my grandma has this lung disease and my family has decided to go to visit her for Thanksgiving, since it might be her last Thanksgiving (she lives in Kingsport, Tn)

What does that have to do with this thread?

my parents told me that we will be leaving on Wednsday the twenty-third (night of the concert),  and have told me that i need to sell my ticket. But i am trying to convince them to go on to Kingsport and let me drive to Louisville for the concert, and afterwards i will come back here to Bowling Green and at 6am on the morning after the concert drive to Kingsport (6 hours).

if they say no i will have to sell my tickets, they are in row c in orchestra 2 i believe.

by the way, it was me who asked why it was more expensive...i wasnt complaining by any means, i was just hoping that maybe the higher price meant a longer set list or something..and i've heard a little bit of vhs or beta (not much), and i hated it.  just my opinion though, im sure some people may like them but the instruments and the songs i heard just didnt appeal to me..but i dont mind paying 30 bucks to see the jacket because it's worth it, just twice as much as i paid in june (in asheville, but free in knox.)  and i figured they might be doin something special.

realdeal

i hate vhs or crap too. it is beyond me why they are opening for MMJ. why not cabin (another louisville band). at least they are original. i could go without seeing skinny litte emo fuckers in tight black pants and jelled hair prancing around stage doing their cliche '80's act. thats just me.

the reason why the tix cost a little bit more is because the Palace is fucking extremely beautiful and expensive to maintain and staff (insurance as well) and the Palace will not put on a show for $15 a head.

ba

yeah i really dont like that band and wouldnt mind if i were to miss there set (although some bands who suck in the studio can put on a good live show) but yeah their style (music and fashion) is annoying...i've never been to the palace so im sure it is nicer than the orange peel in asheville...by the way, i saw robert randolph a while back at jillians.  how does the palace compare to jillians or any other venue?

tomEisenbraun

i'm assuming, in regards to what I've heard from them musically, and the hype I've heard about them, that it must be their live performance that really defines VHS or Beta as a band. I would at least bother to check em out.
The river is moving. The blackbird must be flying.

brand new to this board.  i'll be there.
