DUDE. I know EXACTLY what you're talkin' about...

"I'm able to sing because I'm able to fly, son. You heard me right..."

easy way

It DOES NOT get much better than last night...my head's still spinnin'!
"the time is with the month of winter solstice, when the change is due to come..."

I looked at the setlist, realized I'd completely forgotten about Remnants, and then realized it was because my head almost FELL OFF during Lay Low right before that...

Sweet Jesus.

And holy Cobra?! The dude in front of me realized I knew what I was doing due to several near-head-loss episodes, and I got him all the details on that one. Cobra makes so much more sense after Evil Urges dropped...

Sweet Jesus. War Begun, the almost-Xmas Curtain intro to Ev-o-lyn, the damn Bear--I about died during Run Thru.

Man. Someone remind that I need to not wait another two years to see these guys again. Sheeeeeesh.
The river is moving. The blackbird must be flying.

Tom, don't forget not to wait another two years before you see those guys again.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Holy shit. The show was amazing. That was only my 4th time seeing the band (the past 3 40 Watt shows), but I have quite a few on cd, and it was by far, the tightest show of all.

Simply amazing. Phone Went West was also a personal highlight, besides the ones previously mentioned. The new material translates so well live...and they mixed it up nicely.

By far my favorite thing about this band is how they keep reinventing themselves. Last night it was evident how each song is so different from the next, but all (almost) equally good.

And the lights were amazing.

My friend William Boswell taped, so look for the show soon on digitalpanic.org I'd guess.

(Oh and by the way, is anyone else obsessed with their version of Velvet Underground song from Bonazoo? Holy crap, it's good.)

HOTLANTAAAA!

Fantastic show.  War Begun guitar solo was somehow better than Nashville - really did not think that possible - I mean, if you're talking strictly the guitar and leave the fireworks out of the equation.

Evelyn was a treat.  First for me.

First time I have seen Bear outside of Bonnaroo.  Guy in bear suit was hilarious, took about 7 bows and soaked it up before he left the stage.

Run Thru...oh Run Thru.  Still their best live song in my opinion, and they tore it to shreds last night.

Long live the Jacket!
Keep on dreamin' boy,
cuz when you stop dreamin'
it's time to die.

Truly unbelievable show.  I love MMJ pulling some old school stuff.  For some reason it took a few songs in before the whole place starting getting into it.  By the end my head was spinning, sitting tenth row and looking for my face.  Thanks for another great show guys.

Incredible...I'm really kicking myself for not having picked up the new disc prior to last night, but the new stuff (to me) was great.  Run thru just blew me away.

This only being my second show (their set @ Bonnaroo '04 is an all-time live music highlight for me), it amazes me that they can put on shows like this night after night.

I'm with Tom - I won't go another four years (or two...) without seeing these guys.

I agree with it took awhile for the crowd to get into it.  I'm used to going to 311 shows where everyone is bouncing and dancing the entire show and to be the only one in the section moving more than a simple head nod was kind of irratating, but later in the show everyone started to get pumped up.

I loved Jim's off topic ramblings....can anyone remember anymore?  I couldn't hear a lot of what he was saying.

"We should just drop the Fox and we'll just call in The Fabulous.  Welcome to The Fabulous"

"Everyone pretend we're in Egypt for a moment.  We're in Egypt in the desert."

"HOTLANTA!!!"

I put my pics up, feel free to download them.  I didn't have time delete the crappy ones, so its a big file (over 200 pics & several videos).  Some great shots...I was in the PIT.  What a show!!

Wow, that was beautiful.  I was in line to buy a poster when I ran into Brad.  I'm excited to be a part of his thumbs up crew, we roll hard.  I love the poster.  Only a fan would be that in tune, the boots, the angel tattoo, the use of "Alive" Love that poster, nice work B.

Those circle lights are off the hook.  The lights and smoke just keep getting better all the way around.

I've never done so much all out dancing at a show.  Wordless Chorus, Touch Me Part II, Highly Suspicious, COBRA, Mahgeetah.  People were just loosing their minds...gettin they dance on!!!

"Let's pretend like we really are outside.....and In Egypt" -JJ CLASSIC!!!!

I might add more later, time for a nap.

Man that was an awesome show seriously. The set list was PERFECT. I'm kicking my friends asses for making me leave after the Bear. Then they played my fave songs I was hoping theyd play. Freakin' Golden and Run Thru really made me happy. My friend totally freaked out (shes never heard mmj before) when the sax solo came fore Dondante. God, that was the BEST version of that solo I've heard. The lights were SO AMAZING too that was part of the show itself!

I felt a little disconnected though, I was up near the back Right Dress. The crowd around me was kinda pissing me off. This chick behind me spilt her beer on me three times and finally dropped the whole cup on the floor(as well as my foot). A lot of the people around me were just talking and yelling through some of the really amazing parts, like Librarian and Dondante. I kept trying to tune them out but it was like a constant buzz going on. Feck, next time I'm getting closer no matter what. I think I was sitting around a bunch of N00bs.
See mom, I have friends. I'm on a "forum".

Guys....

Really,  Guys.......

Holy SHIT,  Guys....

If you still have an erection after 4 hours, consult you doctor....

I'm goin' on 24, doc!!!!!
What a momentus occasion!!!

The thing that i was most impressed by was how over-all beautiful the crowd was.  I've felt that way before.  Once @ INXS in 87' and again a couple of times @ Prince...
Bravo, y'all be some handsome and gorgeous people...
Next-  How awesome was the venue.  As with most Fox shows, It took a few songs to get rolling but how great was the sound??  How fucking cool were the USHERS...  I was able to burn down to my hearts content and I had NO problen going from my balcony seat all the way up front within about 10 feet of Jim to take some snapshots and feel the vibe.
It was kinda chill in the upper deck but overall, mostof the people there seemed really into it and kept the extra curricular stuff to a minimum.  I was kinda focused of rocking my balls off so I may have missed it.  Up front was a different story...  Drugs everywhere...  People makin' out in the isles...  EVERYBODY was dancing their asses off.  It was amazing to be a part of.

The Band was in rare form....  Jim was nuttyy all night long and it's nice to be complimented on a great hometown venue.
Can you believe that 10 years ago, our brilliant city council wanted to tear that plac down??
Run thru made my brother-in-law finally "get-it"!   He called them "floaty" up to that point.  I love how the "floaty-ness" morphs into Psychedelia in the live setting.
The slow songs lost some of the less die-hard fans but the encore, most importantly Suspicious>Cobra>Bear>Magheeta>Holiday was the most exciting 45 minutes of music that i have ever witnessed.  It was like giving birth, kinda, sorta, i've heard.  Whoever handles the lighting for that band is on top of their game.  I tthink it might be the reason why the setlist doesn't change up too much.  It's gotta be time consumptive to do all that computer programming for even 1 song.  I also think it's why every so often, a new song pops up on tour.  It's one hell-of-a production and takes time.

In my photos is a file called Snaps from the Rock Show.  I posted 45-50 crazy shots of the show.  I'll post a few but go there to see the rest...
I didn't get to meet any of you but i wanted to.  I was sportin' my Wesley Willis shirt but no one said anything.  Maybe next time...

This first one is of the band and the crowd simultaniously combusting from the pure rock fury.  Don't worry, we all rose from the ashes like a Pheonix.  Thats what the slow songs were for.

It was a good night.
O, How time flies, with crystal clear eyes.  But it's cold, it's cold, when you're ending with diamond eyes.

QuoteErr?  When did Jim play bass?

Nice spot!  Got a capo too.  Trying to figure out where he would bust that out.  Sure one of the vets in this forum could answer that.
