Okay,

Time to dig up politics again.

Damn, what's happening to the world?  Bush is creating his own 2nd 11th novembre.  Okay he needs the support from the jewish party for his re-ellection (god, spare us from that), but in favour the whole arabic part of the world eats Bush and americans alive. He's definetly playing with fire. Recently the approval on the annexation of Palestinean territory and then the Israelian attack on Hamas leader Al-Rantissi without condemnation on American Side, which is in fact an approval of this act of terror. Agreed, I don't think that the palestinean suicide squads are the solution neither, in fact all violent means are out of the question, but political leaders should think long term instead of short term. Bush is now jeapordizing the future of America.

Europe remains incapable to react. They condamn this act but without reaction. Just words.

This all, encourages terrorist-organizations (like Al Quaeda) to hate the western world even more and creates a lag-wagon effect. Support is growing for such organizations.

So here a request to all Americans out there reading this message:

HELP THE WORLD: vote democratic

Maybe it won't change the world dramatically, but anything iis better than Bush

Ah yes, time once again to churn the bile that is American politics these days...

I've been petitioning my friends personally to do something instead of bitching about how bad shit is.  If we let the Shrub get re-elected, it is all our own fault for being apathetic/misguided about the political process.

Voters 18-24 as a group are particularily apathetic, yet comprise enough of a population subgroup to attract the attention of both candidates, as they could be the swing this time around.  If you're American, able to vote in the election, and are of the ages 18-24, get your ass registered and do something!  Quite frankly, if you're American and still have a pulse and haven't been lobotimized, get registered and make a difference!

This message brought to you by Coffee....Coffee, where would your morning be without it?  8)

I find it rather strange that there's so little response on this topic.  The future of America and Europe is at stake here.

Maybe I'm to pessimistic but something inside me says that within a while a new disaster like 9/11 or like the trainbombing in Madrid will occur.  There's something serious wrong with the world we're living in. Much inequality, very easy to buy a gun, some ideologic extremist and you have the ideal cocktail for a terrorist act.

Yep, you're right. But you know what it is? I can't give a damn' anymore. It's really awful, but at some point of my life I figured, hey, there's a lot of shit going on in this world of ours, there's nothing I can do about it... let's hide. Let's disappear in my own comfortable little life, live my life as good as possible and accept the fact that that's all I can do. I hid my head in the sand. I know that's not right, but what is? Someone tell me that.

Apologies for the lack of my own interest.
Currently working on a very late assignment and waiting for the match on Thursday night.
It's all about priorities I suppose.

Not everyone can be political whackjobs like us!  ;) Just kidding...

It was not ment as an insult or something. I know not everyone has the same interests. Of course I know, we, right here on this board, can't change much of the world we're living in.  Maybe you can protest and participate in long protest marches but the effect will be small.  But on a political level much can be done: for instance Zapatero, the spanish premier, who retreats the Spanisch forces out of Iraq, and waits for a UN intervention and does not agree with the solo-act of Mr bush.

And there on this political level, we all have the possibility to cast a vote. Use it well and wisely.  As a sole individual, we can't do much with this one vote, but as a group we can.

Amen( feel like some kinda preacher)

I think in a few generations time the world will be a much worse place to live. Because of 9/11 (in America especially) the kids are being brought up on hate and violence and its going to get a lot worse before it gets any better. Still, its encouraging that so many people are anti-Bush instead of swallowing all his (badly-scripted) rhetoric, but that's not enough when he's the one in charge

I have to say, I felt the world was a safer place with a Democrat in the White House, even if he did turn out to be a liar. A lot of people here (the UK) think Tony Blair is George W's puppet.

And George W is Dick Cheney's puppet, so we're all screwed.  Unless you work for or have stock in Haliburton... ;)

The only thing I can say right now is sad sad America.

I hope heads will roll in the white house and instability will lead W to the elections and people will wake up.

US soldiers did in Iraq the same thing what Sadam Hoessein did during his dictatorship.  Now I don't say it goes up for all us soldies but even red cross says there's a regular patterns for those torture activities. Mr Rumsfeld (I truly believe this guy has no soul or no remorse, he's just cold blood killer) keeps denying and keeps saying that photo's and movies are forged.  Què?
Can it be more obvious?

There are people in the white house and government who have no moral, no honor and don't know how to rule such a great nation.

So far my political frustration.

Thx for listening.

I was waiting for a comment on this.  Truly a sad spectacle that some of the only images a lot of the people of the world see are things like this.  Sad indeed.

However, I'm not shocked or surprised by these events.  Having experienced the American military firsthand, I can say with all honesty that there are sick fucks like these excuses for humanity amongst the ranks of good people.

Not every soldier (or every American, for that matter) is this kind of person.  They exist, to be sure, but are not the majority.  The really sad thing is that those bastards knew exactly what they were doing to them (Iraqi culture is such that men are not to be humiliated this way) and got away with it due to the inaction or inability of the leadership to put a stop to this kind of shit.

So true John.

There are no excuses for such a behaviour.

Finally Rumsfeld appologized himself, but I have serious doubts about the honesty of those apologies. He knew he had to do that to survive politically.
He was aware of the report but he didn't feel like reading it.  That's a lack of good governance and leadership.

I surely can agree with the critics that the Bush government is the most secret government America has ever had. So many secrets, so much untold.

What's happening in guantanamo bay right now, you think?  Torture and frustration, you bet!

Long live america, land of the home of the brave.

Just seen the pictures. So disturbing. There are photos of British soldiers pissing on prisoners in our papers, too. Our own Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon says they're not evidence of torture. I'm ashamed. And worried about the repercussions.

Bush seems to keep defending ol rummie.  Any chance soon massdemonstrations will start to rise up?

If Bush wants to save his candidacy he has to give up rummie.  But it seems  bush is tied up with both hands.  I believe there is more behind this than we, ordinary people, can see.  In my humble opinion, if Bush fires rummie, rummie is able to harm the bush family's interests in the oil or other industry.  And as Iraq is Rummie's personal Battlefield and obsession, he won't let that loose.

I do hope America gets up, stand up and fight for it's rights.  Every day we can hear in the world that the hatred against America is increasing. I don't know if you can notice it overthere, as Americans are more self-orientated, but overhere, America doesn't have much credit anymore.

I do long for the elections, starting in august, I believe (is that correct john?).
lfish

peanut butter puddin surprise

As much as I wish for the elections to be in August, sadly there aren't until November 2nd.  (strangely, the same day as "day of the dead" in Mexico...coincidence?)

bush won't give up rummy UNLESS his party says to do so, period.  (or dick cheney...who of course is pulling all of shrub's strings)

Again, I want to apologize to the rest of the world outside my borders for the sad behavior of our so-called leaders and for the actions of soldiers who supposedly represent my country.  They DO NOT represent all Americans, nor do they accurately portray the average American in any way, shape or form.  God bless you all for your patience.  I am doing my damndest to help unseat this chimpanzee in November, and I urge my fellow Americans here and anywhere else to vote John Kerry in.  This is bloody important, never has a vote been more important.  The world won't tolerate an America headed by this green bean of a "leader" for four more years.

Americans are mostly kind, helpful folks who feel it's necessary to share our wealth with the world.  By wealth, I mean money, knowledge, people, etc. etc.  Please try to remember that there are Americans who do good every day around the world, it's just the idiots who get all of the attention.

As a former soldier, I can honestly say its always the 62 IQ bottom feeders that do shit like that was done in Iraq, not necessarily the majority of our soldiers.

Stop the war.  I can't cry anymore at the news every night of the faces and names of young people dying for absolutely no reason at all.
