The reason that it upsets me is that even though I could give two shits about Anna Nicole Smith, she ended up so pathetic and I'm sure she knew it. She probably hated herself, and hid behind painkillers and diet pills and alcohol just to deal with herself. And now she can't even redeem herself, even if she only redeemed herself to her and the people close to her, not the millions of people that have nothing better to do than talk about her (which, even in death, she'd probably love the fact that all of these people are talking about her). Now you have a baby with no mother and no one even really knows who the father is. Whats going to happen to the baby? Not only that, but like I said before, she probably hated herself and no matter how much of a dipshit her public persona was, I don't have it in me to feel anything but sorry for her.

I don't like the "fun police" anymore than anyone else (I mean, I can be Captain Fun, along with my nifty side kick Senor Smiley), I just don't know what to do when stuff like this happens. I feel helpless that we are like this as a nation. I feel selfish and stupid (more than normally). I begin to HATE folks like FOX news who seem to beat the war drum and give so little coverage to our fallen heroes, but go wall-to-wall b/c some super dysfunctional, attractive blonde dies (or 1 goes missing in Aruba). Makes me want to take a hostage or like Bukowski would say, "you feel like digging in under a hill and hiding out with a tommy-gun."

I just hope when I die I don't have regrets that I squandered real life and totally missed out on what's important.

I wish I had more solutions other than belly aching. Shit like this makes me want to shoot smack or pray.

Maybe Jim will write a song about it...
