I was just thinking of you Meg!  I am going to see Andrew Bird in a couple of weeks and I read that Cortney Tidwell was opening up.  I went to her myspace page to check it out and she sounds a lot like you!   The music is different but the voice could be you!

Any who, I will be spending the whole summer doing as much outside as you can with a newborn baby.

and we can sit Conaway in the corner, give him a jam box with an 8-Track of Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak stuck in it since 1983 and feed him bourbon all day so he can talk about the "good ol' days". People will be like, "Have you been to that Tattoo removal store that has the drunk guy in the corner who says absurd shit? No? You got to go see him! And get there before 2 b/c he is usually passed out by then and all he does is snore."

And Hey Girl plays in the parking lot on Friday nights!   :o

I'm painting the kitchen and getting geared up for the NHL playoffs and the Raptors first trip to the post-season since 2002. I also just got a DigiTech looper for my guitar and plan on playing many more solo open mic nights.

Trying to quit smoking

you know, I was up to a pack and a half a day when I quit. I suggest cold turkey; suffer as much as humanly possible, that way it's more of a deterrant to starting back.

Smoking will kill you, not smoking won't!

Just stop! Quit! Today! It's hard, but after a while you DO NOT miss it.

whothrewthecake

counting down the days until summer when i get to sit on my ass like a bum but still get a paycheck. the spring weather is awesome and is slowly turning to summer in austin. i wish you could all come visit and we could get a margarita and a chicken taco and shoot the shit all day!

Hawkeye

A margarita sounds good right about now...then again when doesn't it?  thanks for the encouragement Tracy, I only smoke about a pack a week right now, but probably all the more reason to quit before I do develop a pack-a-day habit...not gonna quit smoking EVERYTHING though, at least not til I grow up
We could.

I'm in one of those 'I'm sick of my life here & want to go home' moods. The only problem is this is home  :-/
Living for June when I fly to Spain & see my family again...
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Hi EC and everybody!!!! I just replaced (somebody stole) a micstand, for my lovely shure. Cuzit's hard to play keyboard or guitar while holding a microphone.  :) That and A lot of work and staying in and rollerblading in CP with my ipod, and a nice weekend vacay this June! Maybe Dublin/Paris/Amsterdam in September. That's why it's all about work and home for the most part. Hopefully.

How are You? New Ep coming soon right!  :)

Taking lots of long walks mostly to photograph interesting stuff but also because I just like to walk. Found a fully intact and clean deer rib cage the other day that I am going to try and incorporate into a project. Also stumbled upon an old abandoned campground full of really old mangled debris. To my surprise, people were squatting in some of the buildings. A little scary but I love getting scared as long as I can escape. Other than that, teaching and printing and trying to find work for the summer that doesn't involve food service.
Everyone has a photographic memory. Some don't have film.

brian, you owe me a full email update. ;)
jaimoe, you let me know when you're playing.  there's a fun new one on tuesdays that derek downham (by divine right) hosts and i've been meaning to check it out...
cakey, we're going to do that someday.  you know we are.
sorry to hear that you're homesick, db. :(
sean, glad to hear that you're back in axxion.
i want to know about the ribcage project!

for me, i'm feeling really good these days.  i'm doing some work for a theatre consulting firm (first 9-5 job i've had in... actually ever.)  i was torn about taking it because i was afraid it would take too much away from what i really want to do, but so far i'm managing to make it work.  they're really nice, i'm almost completely independent and they know where my priorities lie so i can take off when i need to and it's cool.  the rock and roll nights followed by the office days make me pretty tired sometimes, though. ;)  went back to sask in january to do some recording, and yep sean, we're releasing the ep first week of juuuly.  rounded up some out of town shows for april/may and then june is nxne so there's lots going on there.  i've finally landed some in town shows at venues i've wanted to play for a long time, so that feels snazzy. :)  playing still in shelby's band, and it's very fun.  and then after everything's released i'm hoping to get back on the road.  i would really like to make that southern trip i was talkin' to some folks about earlier.  so we'll seeeee where it all gooooooes.

keep 'em comin...
