Yep, grinding your own is best for flavor and aroma especially if you are using a french press or an expresso maker.

I finally kicked that bastard habit....please do not tempt me...tasty expresso...need to consume coffee....

It's actually been about 3 weeks now.

the last cup of coffee from each "batch" has a lot of so-called grit.

lovin the coffee thread.

i grind fresh before brewing.  tests 1000% better than pre-ground.

i am the biggest coffee snob ever!!  i can't help myself.  i have 5 different types of whole bean coffees in my freezer.  i have a french press, reg coffee, espresso machine, and a perk.

i work at a coffeehouse that has the best coffee.  today i was off work and had to go in just to get the best americano ever.

oh, coffee, i love you.  i don't know why anyone would ever want to give up coffee.

nothing can be changed except ourselves

ratsprayer

just grinded.

i need an espresso machine.

what's a beginner grinder run? I drink at work and have a french press at home but rarely use it over the Bunn. too much clean up. Do you guys just use tap water? I kinda think my water makes a big difference in my coffee at home...

I started roasting organic coffee beans. It's a bit of a science getting the right blend, but it's worth it. My coffee tastes a lot fresher and better than it did when I just ground it with pre-packaged beans.

vespachick

I've started harvesting my own organic beans.  I trek in using mules I raise on my own ranch; It's a lot of effort but I find the coffee to be much tastier, however those pesky lions can be something of a problem.

I always run my coffee water through my brita pitcher filter. It makes a whole lot of difference. You should taste the crap people make at work (I make it in my own room). Unfiltered water, weak, and scorched on burner too long. I bought a krups grinder many years ago for about $20 and it still works great.
