did anyone else have the oppurtunity to go see D-WARS! ?        If not then i would highly recomend renting it once it is released on dvd/vhs.   A government funded korean film ten years in the making.

That makes me think of a movie I never got to see called "Battle Royale" that I think is Japanese. I've heard people tell me it is an awesome flick. Has anyone heard of this one?

Battle Royale is a good movie.

I've not seen it but D-Wars was a huge miss with movie fans & critics alike:

I've seen Battle Royal 1 and 2 and both were pretty amazing.  VERY violent, but they were both some of the coolest japanese movies that I've ever seen.

As far as D-Wars goes, I've seen previews, but never got around to seeing it.  It did look interesting, but I didn't know that it was Korean funded...hm....

seriously? the first one, battle royale is a really excellent movie but the sequel just completely sucks...

Aw come on now.  The story may have sucked, but it's always cool watching a japanese beach landing against a bunch of kids :D
