This is great news. The innovative troupe will be returning to the CBC with a new 8-episode mini-series. Too bad it won't be shot in the old CBC building, but that's since been torn-down.

Here's the story from today's Toronto Star: http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/article/546727

I doubt any major US networks will pick this up, but I'm betting BBC USA will carry it.

I'm sure comedy central will be all over it.  I excited but at the same time I really hope it doesn't suck.

The Kids want their new series to play out like the insane British comedy, The League of Gentleman, so if it reaches the same kind of heights as that show, then look for this to be excellent indeed.

Great news. I'd be preparing for it to suck but I've seen a couple of those guys in other projects since they got cancelled and I think they're up to it. We'll see.

"As a group, we're still talking about doing a feature as well, but first we have to wait till everyone who ever saw Brain Candy is dead," sighed Foley, referring to their critically panned 1996 feature.

I'm not ashamed to admit I love Brain Candy.

Another reason to like K, his unabashed love for Brian Candy.

Hi, I'm Cancerboy.... Fuck that movie was hilarious.

Awesome news!

I didn't care for Brain Candy much, I loved the series though. I hope a US channel picks it up and I'd wish Comedy Central would show the reruns again (i have season one on DVD and haven't felt like spending the cash for the rest of them).
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

This is great news!  I also wish Comedy Central would air re-runs again.  I used to watch them all the time and then they just disappeared.

I used to live a few blocks north of Toronto's gay district for five years (moved to new place a bit east in 2002) and I would see Scott Thompson every now and again shopping for groceries or walking around. Anyway, the Kids famous recurring "gay steps" skit was actually based on the stairs that led into a coffee shop located at the major intersection of Toronto's Gay Village: Church Street @ Wellesley. The coffee shop is now gone, but the steps still remain, although the checking-out cruising part are a thing of the past. The steps were called just that, The Steps, and was infamous as a check-out area for gay men. Most of the Kids skits have a Toronto theme buried in them somewhere, but that one is the most obvious. BTW, the gay district in T.O. is very large, second only to San Fran and far more overt and vibrant than NYC's.
