I got a feeling, PITTSBURGH's Goin To The SUPER BOWL!!!!!!

Fuck you Patriots...I need to get some Patriot toilet paper so I can wipe my ass daily with that shit-eating grin of a logo

ever since we beat the giants, our season and team has imploded---now we have 2 streaky injured QBs and a losing mentality--at least braylon edwards caught some passes today. butterfingers!! was it bad karma to mess w/eli or something?

but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

I wouldn't get too excited...Pitts just proved what a lot of people already knew, that the Pats are not that good and that Cassell is unproved against good teams.  Pitts played good though and have one of the best D's in the league.

Meanwhile even with our best WR shooting himself Giants don't get distracted and just roll over the Skins.  11-1.

Good luck against Tennessee with a 3rd string QB.  Actually Clev beating the Giants was the best thing that could of happened to the Giants.  I can't even imagine if they were undefeated right now, who needs all that pressure.

I am just hoping Pittsburgh comes out of the next 3 games with 2 wins, and then finish up with a win against Cleveland. Get to 12-4 and a first-round bye. With the way the defense has been playing, I am liking the chances of getting that first-round bye.

Harrison is a monster. I have to think he gets defensive MVP this year. He is spectacular, especially when a big play is needed.

First off, I said going to the superbowl, not winning..at least not yet.

And Pittsburgh's D is hands down the Best D in the NFL this year. Their #1 in Total yards allowed, and rushing, and passing. Baltimore is the only other team in the top 5 of all of those. Were also #1 in sacks. Polamalu is #1 in the NFL in interceptions (and he probably shouldve had 1 or 2 more yesterday...IMO is playing the best he ever has right now), and Harrison is #3 in the NFL in sacks (with Lamarr Woodley at #5, ho-hum). This has been done with Brett Keisel, Bryant McFadden, and DeShea Townsend (3 starters), all missing extended periods of time. Considering we also have the toughest schedule in the league, I think our D speaks for itself.

What might even be more important though, is our offensive line has put together 3 solid games in a row.

We arent unbeatable, but I think were better than any other team in the AFC. Tennessee doesnt scare me at all, home or away. A team like Dallas does though, and I cant wait for this weeks game.

As for Placebo Burress, he isnt in the Top 50 in receptions or yardage this year, so losing him/him going to jail wont affect the GMen all that much. Without him, theyve shown theyre still an elite team in the NFL. And Domenik Hixon has def impressed me.

Right now, Silverback Harrison (greatest nickname in the NFL by the way), should be defensive MVP.

He's on the #1 defense

He's #3 in sacks with 14.0 (and his 80 tackles, are at least 20 more than anyone with over 5 sacks)

He's #1 in forced fumbles with 6

He looks like Lawrence Taylor during 1 of his defensive MVP seasons  ;)

Those things are all true but that is a lot of stats and in the NFL stats usually turn out to just be stats once the playoffs start.   I would say they are looking like the favorites in the AFC.  I still would not trust Ben.  Even in the Superbowl year he had a terrible game.  The O Line better play a lot better or you are going to be looking at your D trying to win games and that is tough to do all the time in the playoffs.

Regardless of Plax I think the Giants are the best team in the league right now by a long shot.  Their D is as solid as it gets and they run the ball like crazy and Eli is playing as confident as any QB in the NFL.  I think the team I fear the most is Dallas because of their Offense and talent.  That is the one team I would not want to see them play in the playoffs.

This is the kind of juvenile speak that makes regular fans like me turn nasty--I mean whats your f-ing point?  Just jealous about how we stomped everyone last year (including Pitt)?  Not so hard to beat a team when about half of them are second or third stringers due to starter injuries?  Yeah Pitt is just great. ;D
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

Excuse me, Patriots stomped everyone last year? Are you still in denial of what happened in the Super Bowl? Pittsburgh fans aren't jealous of any team, we have 5 Super Bowls. We hate the Patriots because Belichick is smug, arrogant, and a cheater.

Yes indeed. Tom Brady may even be more smug and cocky than Belichick, which says something

And its not just Steeler fans who hate the Patsies because of their spy cameras and running up the score on every team they could last year, its basically every football fan that isnt a Cheatriots fan.

Yes, stats are stats, but they do mean something. People around here arent saying this LB corps may be better than our 70's greats of Jack Lambert, Jack Ham, and Andy Russell for no reason. Its too early for me to say PIT is getting a bye, but if we go 3-1 over our last 4 games, we should hold the #2 spot and get our 1st playoff game at home. No one will want to play their 2nd playoff game in da Burgh, the crowd will be ridiculous, and I cant see anyone winning here in that scenario.

Even if we dont, I dont see a team in the AFC that can beat us without us beating ourselves via turnovers. Thats been the story in all of our losses: -1 to Philly, -4 to NYG, -3 to Indy. Philly's ratio was winnable, but they dominated us on both lines much more than either of the other 2 losses.

And dont get ahead of yourself. I agree Id rank the GMen #1 overall right now, but NOT by a long shot. Just as you said about my stats for PIT D, your record is 0-0 come playoff time. Ask the Patsies about how that works  ;D.

And if you fear Dallas the most, Id put PIT right after that them. We held you to 84 yards rushing as a team and especially because you were +4 in turnovers but not winning in the 2nd half until there was about 3 minutes left. And who knows about that safety fiasco, but we did have James "ive never even done a long snap in practice before" Harrison as our long snapper to give you the safety

Id love a rematch  :)

good grief Steelers fans, calm down. Miami beat the Pats 38-13, it's not that big of a deal. You lost to the 2 best teams you have played this year and they were both at home. Jeeeeez

Possibly, but in that reference you failed to mention the vicious WildCat offense Miami busted out that game (and that Miami is better than any post-Marino Miami this year, not including the Miami Hurricanes)

Trust me, not only did beating the living F outta the Patsies bring joy to the hearts of Steeler nation, but it did the same thing to a team that beat them for the 1st time since Ben's rookie year, 2004

That was an important, and impressive, win. And had numerous implications

I see a few teams in the AFC who could beat the Steelers.  They are not a team i'd be afraid of for a lot of reasons.  They turn the ball over, Ben hasn't been playing his best football, the O line is not great.  Regardless of the bad snap and only 84 yards rushing the Giants still beat them and had chances to put up more points in the red zone.  Giants didn't play nearly as good a game as they are capable of that day and still won.  That being said you are right I don't like being favorites and they could easy lose in the playoffs just like the Pats last year.  I still say they are the best team by far right now (I just read about 10 articles this morning stating the same thing) and I think they will win the division and get a first round bye which is all you can hope for right now.  When the playoffs start it is a whole new ballgame.
Last Fair Deal Gone Down...

capt. scotty

Sure theres teams in the AFC that can beat the Steelers, Indy already has, but its unlikely to happen as long as we dont lose the turnover battle by more than 1 or 2. After that, its 1 more game that we would probably be favored in to get to the SB

And if we do get a bye, I give whoever comes to Pittsburgh for their 2nd playoff game about 2% chance of winning. Unless were -4 or something ridiculous in turnovers, its not going to happen.

And despite this seasons flaws and injury problems, theyre 9-3 and I would only say Philly really 'beat' us. We imploded in the Indy game and the NYG game was a hard fought game that couldve gone either way.

The GMen are the obvious choice for #1 in anyone's power ranking, but saying theyre the best team by far sounds like something Skip Bayless would say.

Theyre actually very similar to PIT this year, with the biggest difference probably being Eli and Roeth seemed to have swapped their penchant for throwing INTs. Paired with the GMen having a better ground attack and the Steelers a better D

So not that similar?

C'mon Cap.  Your Steelers are only 1 game ahead of my crappy, pretending Jets.  That defense has been sick and a tough run D is a necessity against the Giants.  The Ravens also had a good run D and well...the Giants mistreated them in a cruel way.  Lots of "ifs" still and your inconsistent O could be your downfall.

P.S.  Thanks for Faneca, clearly the right financial move for you guys but equally worth it for us.
