If you don't know for yourself, how could you ever know for me....

I know...and Farrah Fawcett all in one day.   :'(

Ed, Farrah....MJ....the whole 3 theory...

He was such a big part of my childhood. I remember watching the moonwalk dance as a kid, think it was the AMA awardds...that was like our generation's moon landing
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

That does make 3, it's amazing how that always happens.

Who here was a child in the 80's and bought the red zipper jacket, silver socks, and one silver glove?

He was as big as you can get during that time.

My Mom totally denied me the glove and jacket.  But I did have a hot pink Jordache purse (well, a drug store knock off, but girls of the 80's will know the reference) with him silk screened on it.  And a poster over my bed and mad, mad stickers and buttons.  Regardless of his troubled life, there will never be any pop star that can touch the magic of Michael.  Off the Wall?  Thriller?  Totally killer albums.  RIP Jacko.

My first vinyl was Thriller.  (Or was it Kiss Alive? :-/)  Either way, I think the moonwalk at the Grammys was the first time that music gave me chills.   And so it begain.   I'm sadder than I thought I'd be.

(I had the jacket. :-X)
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

as with others, mj was a pretty big part of me growing up. when i was a little guy i would watch his videos and be amazed, he was the man. all shit put aside, mj was an important person to music and he will be missed.

if i was motivated enough to embed a youtube vid id put up the rock with you music vid.

I shall be rocking my 80 minute MJ mix tonight in rememberance. Has there ever been a more polarizing American?! He was loved by millions and maybe not quite hated recently, but hasnt been in the spotlight for positive reasons for 10-15+ years. Add in the color change, and needless to say, there will NEVER be a pop star like Jacko.

These will always be 2 favorites...

Ugh.  I remember crying on and ruining the cover to my ABC album because my father wouldn't let me go to a Jackson 5 concert with Mary Ann Addison and her dad.

Sad day, indeed.
God sure baked a lot of fruitcake, baby.

Weird - "I want you back" was my first song of the day.

Musically, he shall be missed.  Personally, I think the horror stories  will start surfacing in the coming weeks.  :-?

I think those families received enough money from Swiss bank accounts to keep their mouths shut. Besides, it wouldn't do anything to impact his legacy either way nor does it help their family get more money, etc., so it would seem like a stupid publicity grab that would end up firing right back in there face if you ask me.

How loud can silence get?

It's a shame the toll that plastic surgery took on his appearance. I prefer to remember him in his prime:

I think my mom might still have it in closet somewhere.  I'll take a picture if I can sometime.  I think my sister wore it to an "80s party" a year or so ago.

The local Hip Hop/R&B station had a live DJ spinning an endless MJ mix last night, so we had a commemorative dance party at our house. Our little baby Jackson loves Michael!

It's sad though, he was amazing.

It hasn't takin long for the jokes to start rollin in. I will refrain from telling any of them out of respect for him and his loyal fans.

He was a pretty controversial dude in his private life.   But one hell of an entertainer/showman.

Shit, good point. Did he still own them or did he sell them to raise money? I know he was going broke a couple years ago.
