Official Taping Policy?

Looking forward to seeing MMJ at the FOX in boulder sunday.

I'd like to tape but don't see any taping policy on the site.

As far as I know, taping is allowed but is ultimately dictated by the venue in question.  Riny, thoughts on this?  I've never encountered an "offical" policy on taping...and plenty of it has occurred, with board taping, stealth taping, and mic stands in the crowd, so I'm unsure how to answer correctly, without misleading you.

I'd say it's cool, but you may want to ask first.

I'm all about authorized taping...

Fortunately the show I hope to tape is this Sunday's show at the FOX theater in Boulder. Having lived in Boulder for many years and attending over 400 shows at the FOX I can assure you the venue won't be a problem ;)

There are many full rig sources out there so open taping appears to be ok but I'd like a offical taping policy to fall back on.

there's no official taping policy but it's usually all good as long as you don't do anything crazy like riggin jim's parrot.

So much for open taping...A friend of mine on the taperssecion.com was TURNED AWAY AT THE DOOR last night.

The show was at the Crystal Ballroom which has had many many taper friendly bands taped. He was told the band wasn't allowing taping.

So I'd like to know is taping going to be allowed Sunday or not?

If I have to drive to the show and can't get in I won't be able to see the show as I'm NOT leaving $8k of gear in my car.

Is there any official band representatives on this forum?

What's the name of the toor manager or sound engineer?

so to be 100% sure call the venue.
the band is okay with it.

Thanks...I know the assistant manager at the FOX so hopefully I'll be good to go..

Can't wait for my first MMJ show! Woo hoo!

BTW, I only know about MMJ because of an audience tape of a show my friend has and their track on the Superfly JazzFest Sampler.

Allowing taping does help a band that's making a living off of touring...

Oh and it doesn't hurt that they kick ass.
