When it comes to art...I like to do it all...painting, sculpture, drawing, graphics, architecture...I like to make things.

Back to the subject of Sweden...my family had a couple of Swedish au pairs, and they were great...so friendly. Our first one was named Lulu, and she would make us Swedish pancakes. I now make Swedish pancakes for my daughter and she loves them.

What about you? I was just looking through this thread and I realized that you haven't told us much about you (unless I missed it).

Ooh, lots of art then, I'm not really good at making art, but I like looking at it, well, some of it  ;)

Swedish pancakes are nomomom, but I actually prefer Belgian waffles (just don't tell my fellow swedes that...).

About me, well uhm, I'm a 23 year old student who lives in Sweden. I like music, other than MMJ it's mostly Conor Oberst in different forms, preferably Bright Eyes, the Mystic Valley Band or Monsters of Folk ofc.

Other random stuff that I like:
- Eddie Izzard and Dylan Moran, always funny
- left wing politics, yay socialism
- cakes and cookies, making them and eating them
- playing around with computers + social media (mostly twitter + tumblr)
- walking barefoot in the summer (or indoors)
- men with beards, very shagadelic

The list could go on forever and ever, but I don't want to bore you  :)

Are you not a fan of Ingrid Bergman, Bibi Andersson, Anita Ekberg, Ulf Samuelsson (one of my most hated Swedes), Greta Garbo, Lena Olin, Stellan and Alexander Skarsgård (by the way, Alex rules in the HBO series True Blood and Generation Kill), Bo Svenson, Max von Sydow, Peter Stormare, Union Carbide Productions, Peter Bjorn and John, Yngwie Malmsteen (I hate his hollow shredding guitar style), The Hives, Caesars, blondes, blue and yellow, three crowns, royalty, fishing, Modo and the rest of the Swedish Elite League?

BTW, you say you love socialism, but many Americans (especially the right-leaning ones) liken it to communism, mainly because they don't know what it actually means. Forms of socialism have been part of US society for over a hundred years, but don't tell that to Fox News and/or Tea Party fuckheads.

You seem like a cool person and you don't bore me at all. I have a beard too, but I don't like it when it gets close to Grizzly Adams (google the name) shag.

exactly the argument I made at work one day and was told I was unpatriotic and unAmerican. I laughed at that.

And it's such an easy argument to win, and I bet the idiots arguing against you know it deep down... or shallow down. Americans love their cars and factories and the union-led factories that make them; taxes, equality, human rights, charity etc... are all forms of socialism too. Personally, I like a nice mix of socialism and capitalism (which is exactly what the Liberal Party of Canada is - this political party is more centre, but to Americans it would seem far left, but not as leftist as our New Democrat Party). Canada is a mix of capitalist-socialist, no matter if your allegiance is to the right or centre of left.

It's funny and retarded at the same time.  They look up socialism in the dictionary and then think that by implementing anything government run we become Marxist's.  because in their mind no matter what, socialism leads to communism.  Every buddy knows socialism is a gateway drug to communism.   ::)

It is mind boggling to me how people can call a person unpatriotic for supporting the president of our country.  I'm still waiting for actual figures of what Obama has taxed these people on that is pissing them off.  One minute they are saying they don't want the government to spend money, the next they are picketing Kennedy Space Center telling the president not to cut spending to the space program.  It's a big stinking pile of hypocrisy.  But I guess that's why they call them puppets, they don't actually know what they're talking about they just repeat other people's opinions.

Haha, well, where to begin, hmm, Ingrid Bergman, Greta Garbo, Anita Ekberg etc etc are all cool I suppose, but not very current. I'm a fan of Alexander Skarsgård for sure, love his work in TB, not seen GK because movies/series about war makes me too sad. I'm a fan of his dad too, they're both very talented and funny. I like Peter Stormare, really liked him in Prison Break. I kinda like Peter Bjorn and John, but I prefer other swedish music like Robyn or Hello Saferide. I like the Hives, Howlin' Pelle has a cool voice and a healthy confidence.. hrrrm ;)

I like blonde females, but prefer darker hair on guys. I like blue and yellow, blue more than yellow, unless it's a submarine. Three crowns are ok, three is the magic number after all. I'm not a big fan of royalty, they don't do much, just keep the gossip magazines alive. I like fishing, but not catching any fish, partly because I don't like killing fish. When it comes to Swedish Elite League hockey I prefer Färjestad - the wolfpack, woohoo. Ok, mostly because it's my dad's favourite team, I have no real preference when it comes to hockey. I do however prefer it to soccer, so hopefully I get 0,5 hockey points at least? You get plenty more swedish points for your post :)

And yeah americans are kinda touchy about socialism I suppose, I'll just stick with my yay and not elaborate further, other than... yay universal health care! :P

And yay that I don't bore you, I hope that goes for this post too. Also I think I'm a bit scared of this Grizzly Adams person, that's a lot of beard, a bit out of hand perhaps.

I feel like I should throw some canadian stuff into this conversation, since you did so well with the swedish points, so here goes:

Canadian things I like; Lacrosse (ok I can't really play it, but it's still fun), maple syrup (does not help my sugar addiction), Joshua Jackson and Ryan Gosling (whoops that's not things I suppose), your liberal view on healthcare and gay marriage etc etc. Canadian things I don't like; Canada Geese (they poo all over).

I think that should earn me at least 2 Canadian points.

Hey SBB!

Age: 31
Locale: Northern Chicago Suburbs (grew up in southeastern Kansas)
Occupation: Actuary
Forum Status: Mostly lurking sometimes posting

I should be studying for an exam that's in two weeks but I'm having a hard time concentrating so I'm posting...

Currently listening to Love Like a Sunset, Pt II off of Phoenix's Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix album.

I'm usually fiscally conservative and socially liberal.

I like the sticky icky but prefer the brick to the expensive mind-blowing shit.

I love MMJ, first heard/saw them opening up for Pearl Jam.  PJ used to be my favorite band, now MMJ is.  Thanks to EV for setting up the passing of the torch.  I've seen MMJ 6 times and met Jim and Two Tone before the Kansas City, MO concert in 2008.

Finally, I'm married to a wonderful girl and we have a 16 month old son.  Nice to meet you...
