If this series keeps going this way, Lebron should buy Wade a car or something because he's the reason theyre up 2-1 (if not 3-0)...Ironic that Bosh hits the game winner with how bad he's been shooting until that point this series.

Im also wondering why Barea doesnt get more PT with Kidd. Seems like anytime he's in the game, he's with Terry. Marion has been too good to keep him on the bench long, but Id love to see some more sets of Barea-Kidd-Terry-Dirk-Chandler.

Dwade is headed for series MVP. I'm OK with that.

Mavs missed a lot of easy shots last night. It was pretty cool watching Nowitski a Dwade go mano y mano down the stretch. And, for the Heat, no over the top celebrations for things they get paid to do. Perhaps they grew up a little bit in Game 2?

Mavs coming back bigtime...considering Dirk is under the weather, I really hope they pull this one out.

Also, the 2-3-2 home swings are a joke. Regardless of what happens tonight, if Miami goes home up 3-2 - its over...if Dallas goes back up 3-2 theyre at a disadvantage because they pretty much have to win game 6 because winning game 7 at Miami would take a miracle (no stats on hand, Im pretty sure the stats heavily weigh home teams in game 7, moreso than baseball and hockey)

Looking like Lebron got a trade to Miami so he'd have a good seat to see DWade try to win his 2nd title.

I completely agree about the format Headdy.  Not necessarily because of the difficulty of winning game 7 on the road but more the flow of it.  Why play one way for the first three rounds then completely change it up.  I never understood it and the argument of cost and difficulty of travel is ridiculous.

This series has been remarkable and a great matchup.  Every game could have gone either way for the most part.  I'm glad Dallas went back to the zone tonight and obviously it paid off.  They dabbled with it in game one, which I thought was great idea, but they gave up on it rather quickly after a few breakdowns led to open corner jumpers for Chalmers and Miller.  I'll still take a few offensive boards by Miami over letting Lebron and Wade take it to the rack in man though Marion is a great matchup on whoever he gurards.  If Marion is on Wade, it's James that's the aggressive one putting up the numbers I figure.  The zone also likely conserved energy for the ill Nowitzki.

I've always had the utmost belief in Carlisle as a brilliant coach but some of his substitutions have been a bit perplexing.

So many ups and downs in every game.  Another must win for the Mavs.  Let's do this Mavs!

I cant remember the last time Ive been this excited for an NBA game, let alone a finals Game 5. As if the last 3 games havent been great enough and back and forth, all of the Lebron "checking out" and "now or never" has just set this game up for anticipation that it probably wont - but hopefully will - meet.

I have no doubt in my mind Lebron gets like 20-25pts. Maybe he gets more, but his boards and dimes will suffer. I think Heat would honestly be better served if he goes 22/9/6 than goes for 35/6/3.

Going into the playoffs, I thought the only way the finals would be this exciting was if it was Heat-Lakers, but Dirk's career defining playoff statement this year has made this possibly even more exciting, because the team around him is just so average. When he goes to the bench, everytime I think to myself how the hell theyll prevent a 10-3 run by Miami, because they just look so outmanned. So not only does Dallas have that rooting factor where you want Dirk to get his, but really that team as a whole is a statement its not stars but team basketball in all aspects, including coaching, that can get you to win it all.

Yeah, but how do you pick if its Kobe vs Lebron then?

I see what youre saying, but it almost feels like most people just dont want Lebron to win this year. Like, "well the Heat can win 5 in a row, just not his 1st year after betraying Cleveland".

I want the Mavs to win, but I wont be disappointed if Lebron puts on a show the next 2-3 games and starts the dynasty now.

Easy. After the "announcement" Lebron became the most egotisitcal (and overrated) pro athlete of all time. Name another athlete with greater accolades with no championship.

I am taking my talents to South Beach?

I have never seen an athlete do so little with so much hype. Mind boggling. Everyone treats him like the 8 championships that he will win have already been won. The idea that his name is uttered in the same breath with MJ and Kobe is puuure sensationalism and great NBA marketing. You listen to those phony "pep talks" he gives before the game? It's like he's reading a script.  ;D

I think humility will serve him better in the long run. That's why I want him to lose; I am more concerend about his development as a human being rather than his fixation w/ bball bling.

I am praying he loses so he will become a better person.

meanwhile...

Yeah, and half of that is his fault for the most part. He's no Jordan, but he's clearly beyond talented athletically. "The Decision" put even his biggest supporters against him. His "back against the wall", when theyre up 2-1 last game, was laughable. Especially since Wade has carried the team...

.....and Wade goes to the locker room.

What Will Lebron Do

Should be an interesting 2nd half...Lebron hasnt impressed me so far for the "come back" game but the 4th is what matters

Chalmers is ridiculous. Anyone coaching against him should immediately foul when theres less than 10sec in the 4th

I guess Wade is planning on making multiple injury appearances so he's Willis Reed Part 2

2-3-2 is a stupid format. The NHL's 2-2-1-1-1 is far more fair and interesting. Even 2-3-1-1- is better than what the NBA has in place now. Still, GO MAVS!

NBA and NHL aren't that different. The NBA seems to shoot itself during playoff time regarding momentum and striking when the iron is hot and the playoff format is another example of the league being out of touch with fairness and intrigue. Anyway, James got one of the quietest playoff triple-doubles I've ever seen.

Fantastic!  What a series!  I'm saddened at the thought that this series has to end.  Carlisle continues to make the right moves even if unorthodox.  If the Heat defend the three point line better, they win and everyone would be raving about Lebron's triple double.  I thought he stood out all game until the 4th quarter AGAIN ;D  I believe Brian Cardinal attempted to draw 14 charges in a 30 second span, clearly an NBA Finals' record.

LOVE IT!
