Anyone watching?

Im not really a fan of the NBA, but I try to tune in during the playoffs. Havent at all thus far because of the NHL playoffs, but these CF matchups are pretty good.

Cavs/Magic might not be great, but I wouldnt underestimate Orlando. Nugs/Lakers should be a dandy though. Just turned Game 1 on now, tight game halfway through the 4th with Nugs up by 5 in LA.

If its Cavs/Lakeshow in the finals, it could be Kobe v. Lebron, Round 1, of an EPIC matchup that is re-ignited for the next few years. I wont call it Ali/Frazier yet, but it could be  :D

Shiiiiiit!!!  Of course I'm watching.  Just played 18 holes, dropped my lowest score ever, and still finished 3rd among 9 of us.  Went to my buddy's, played the new Punchout (awesome), then watched my Lakers squeak by with some bullshit late calls.

Should be a great series.  Still think Lakers in 5.  As for the Magic/Cavs, Cavs are clearly the better team but the Magic match up well against them.  I say Cavs in 6.

Thanks for the NBA thread, I thought I was the only one.

BTW, I'm a Laker lover, yet Kobe hater.  Yes, they do exist.

Ive wanted to make a few posts thus far about the NBA playoffs, but there was nowhere to do it. I felt lost  ;D

Im assuming there arent too many fans here, but seeing how there is a thread for every other sport, I figured why not!

Lakers in 5!!?. Dont know about that, although they did win a highscoring game tonight with Melo putting up 39 (and Kobe putting up 40). I think thatll go 6 or 7.

Why you hate Kobe?! Your girl wasnt the one he was accused of sticking it to was she?

I've always wondered......  ;)

I'm thinking Lakers in 7. Maybe 6, but I think 5 is pushing it.
One good thing about music: when it hits you feel no pain.

Dude, fuck the Lakers (I'm a Kings fan...oh yeah, fuck the draft lottery!!!). I really hope the Lakers lose. I hate the Lakers, that's all I can really say about them. I'm hopin' Lebron and the Cavs roll through the next two rounds undefeated to a title, though the Magic could make it a tight series if they keep shooting the 3 well, but I wouldn't count on that to hold up over a best of 7 series against Cleveland.

aren't you reading? because he IS a douche. lebron is the opposite of kobe, he's a team player, he elevates his teammates, he's fun to play with and be around...he makes everyone better, he just seems to love the game, too. Kobe belongs in LA w/all the other prima donnas.

but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

I realize that you're a clevland homer but come one Lebron is a "team player?" This is the same guy who calls his team "His supporting cast."

the difference is lebron would give up the glory and put the ball in someone else's hands if it meant winning--kobe's the type of player to weigh the cost/benefits of his personal achievement for a split second before he decides

You say he would 'give up the glory" I would say that he is too much a coward to take the winning shot.

but I do agree about the part with Kobe.

Normally I'm all over the NBA playoffs, but with the Bruins making the playoffs and the Jays kings of the AL, baskeball has taken a back seat. I still watch the highlights though.

Hawkeye

Yes I'm watching.  Missed the game last night...I was golfing and then we had the regular Tuesday night pub quiz.  I don't even know who won yet!  ESPN.com is my next stop though.  But yeah I'm a Bulls fan so the playoffs started off on a great note...can you say EPIC?  Bulls/Celtics has to be one of the best series ever in any sport.  Even though they didn't win I was proud to be a Bulls fan.  Derrick Rose is going to be incredible.  He's already good.  And how about Rajon Rondo?  He's really stepped it up this year.  the guy is fearless.  did you see his dunk over Dwight Howard?  gotta give him credit.  The CF matchups are great.  It just sucks now that I have to wait between games.  The first round spoils you, getting to watch 2 games almost every night.
We could.

I was actually thinking the other night that we needed an NBA thread.  I'm a pretty big NBA fan.  The cavs are my team despite the fact they are from Cleveland.  You've got to love Lebron.  He's the next Michael and I'm a witness.

The bulls celts series was fantastic.  I like the bulls team of young guns.  I'd like to see Denver come out of the West.

I'm pulling for a Nuggets/Cavs series, even though eveyone wants to see Lebron v Kobe.

I love how the Nuggets play, they're very loose. I think that comes from Billups; he's like an assistant coach out there.

I've been a big Delonte West fan ever since he played with Jameer Nelson at St Joes; too bad Nelson is out. Will pull for the East in the Finals. I'm an old Sixers fan from the Dr J days so I have no Lakers love.

This game is getting a lot more interesting in the 2nd half
