QuoteIf he passes he's a coward, if he shoots he's a ball hog.  I love how easy it is for some to criticize a 24 year old who scored 49 in a conference finals game.  He calls himself the king because it is a nickname, I'm sure he didn't give it to myself and it's a fitting one.  He calls his teammates his supporting cast, because they are, he knows it, they know it, you know it, I know it, why should he act like he's worse than he is?

It was an AWESOME performance by him and I don't think anyone would call Lebron a ballhog had he taken the shot.

All we have to analyze is the last play of the game.  Two sides of the fence right? :)

I'm a Laker fan that likes Lebron as a person and player more than Kobe.  It will make me as well as many other critics feel better when he displays that killer instinct once down the stretch in the playoffs and hits the clutch shot.  I'm rooting for it to happen, just not against the Lakers. 8-)

Right because I said that...

Some of you tools love putting words in other people's mouths.

Guess what? You get paid 20 mill a year and you call yourself the "king" put the game on your shoulders instead of dishing of the rock at the most important moment of the game.

Like you said he's better than the rest and he knows it, so why doesn't he act like it in crunch time? Becuase he probably doesn't want to deal with the blame if he fails.

QuoteSo whats the real reason you dont like Kobe?

Shaq fan? Magic fan?

He's a douche.  I worship Magic.  He was my hero growing up.

He aint no Magic, but I knew it was either him or Shaq as to why you didnt like him  ;D

aren't you reading? because he IS a douche. lebron is the opposite of kobe, he's a team player, he elevates his teammates, he's fun to play with and be around...he makes everyone better, he just seems to love the game, too. Kobe belongs in LA w/all the other prima donnas.

I realize that you're a clevland homer but come one Lebron is a "team player?" This is the same guy who calls his team "His supporting cast."

Please note your sarcasm when calling someone a tool

James drove right down the baseline and scored over Howard with 25 seconds left in the game and then completed the 3 point play with a FT. 25 seconds left in the game isn't crunch time?  :-/

WTF do you people want?  jeeeeez

Until he scores 80 and hits a game winning 3 pointer while double teamed falling out of bounds, some of you just won't be satisfied.

James drove right down the baseline and scored over Howard with less than 30 seconds left in the game and then completed the 3 point play with a FT. Less than 30 seconds in the game isn't crunch time?  :-/

Yeah, that was pretty sweet though I'm not sure I saw a foul there.  More the reason for him to draw contact on the last play right? ;)

Agreed. It would be easier to call him a ballhog based on the rest of the game as opposed to him taking the last shot.

People arent talking about the playoff career high 49 today, theyre talking about the Cavs loss and that LeBron passed up taking a shot a few feet from the hoop. He should be criticized for that, and that possession is whats being talked about because it was the key to who won the game. Its hardly the first time he's been criticized for it either, its just this time he had a huge game to go alongside it.

It doesnt take away from the rest of the great game he had, but this is what the game will be remembered for. It's not nitpicking LBJ's game, its not trying to find the 1 negative of a great performance, its talking about it because that possession was the deciding factor on who got the W.

Unlike that game a couple years ago vs. DET in teh ECF where he had like 25 points in the 4th quarter and couldnt miss, which they won.

I don't want anything. Frankly I don't really care what happens. I would rather see the Magic pull it out anyway.

You can score 100 points in a game, but if I comes down to the last second I know I would want my superstar (who happens to be one of the best ever) taking that shot. That is NOT the time to be selfless and a team player...

I've watched a lot of ESPN today and 5 "experts" on Around the Horn just got through discussig the game and the only reference to the last 10 seconds was one of the guys saying Lebron made the right choice kicking it to West. I think only the haters are talking about the last 10 seconds being a James choke, where unbiased people like my self can see the game for what it was.

You're just flat out making stuff up (as usual).

I like LeBron, more than Kobe for that matter, so it seems youre the one making stuff up if you say Im a hater because of my opinion on one play.

And the 8-10 people who have posted in this thread today have all put in their 2 cents on that last possession and whether it was right or wrong decision. Im sure there was plenty of talk about it at people's work today as well. I call that people talking about it. Id go by that more than if ESPN is talking about it the most. After all, Vick going for an escorted drive home for a few hours has been discussed more than anything on their airwaves this week and theyve talked about James Harrison not going to the White House, for what, like 3 days?! Clearly ESPN talks about the most important things.  ::)

MJ dropped close to 40 points against a Jazz team in 97(that would smoke this Magic team) and he did it all with the flu.

Anybody see Kobe dish to Gasol with 8 seconds left in the game, 5 feet from the goal? It's b/c Kobe lacks courage, he is scared. Pretty obvious. Kobe can't close.

;D

Because passing to someone a few feet from the basket who you know will either score or get fouled - while also knowing you will still get 1 more possession - and passing to someone for a 3 (when youre basically just as close to the hoop as Gasol who got this pass) for the final shot are the same thing.

You know who shouldnt have a job in the NBA right now?

Joe Dumars.

How you pass on Melo (after leading his team as a frosh to the NCAA championship to boot) for Darko freakin Milicic is beyond me. And not only did he pass on Melo, but the 2 picks after Melo were Chris Bosh and D-Wade.

Dumars should be corralling quarters on a street corner for that pick despite putting together a team that made it to something like 6 straight ECF and won 1 championship (the only starter/significant bench player he actually drafted for any of those teams was Tayshaun Prince though). Nice move by trading Big Shot Billups for Iverson too  ;D

The universe whisper in my ear that you're a dickhead for having an opinion! And you are gonna get run over by a gay female driver driving a vespa because you think something different than the NBA supafan!

Ughhh.  What an ugly 4th quarter that was last night.  It was so hard to watch even though it was such a close game because the sheer volume of fouls being called.  Weren't both teams in the penalty with about half the 4th quarter done or less?  Nonetheless, the Nuggets played well enough to beat a Laker team that just had no rhythm offensively.

Some bitching points:
1.  Make Carmelo drive left, really
2.  J.R. Smith in the jump circle :-X
3.  NBA must revisit the charge/block rule.  If their is not violent contact by either side, the play should continue.  I'm sick of every move to the basket having to be called a charge or block.  There is nothing wrong with a no call sometimes.

If you're gonna call it you can't pick and choose when to do it. That kind of foul is to subjective. You either enforce it all the time or get rid of it...

King James just made up for that bad decision at the end up game 1  8-)

If they blew this game too, wow. The only thing they'd be the king of is chokejobs

The King has left the building.

They'll be showing that Lebron shot for awhile; that was his MJ over Ehlo moment, so far. I'm sure there's more to come.
