It is gonna be bad ass. I totally forget what happened from the cliffhanger except for the Willy Wonka

Also, that link I posted is PACKED with info. Not spoilers, just info. It'll take a lot to peruse.

And speaking of minds blown, what a great date for a new lost, right?

I only wish I had your login name. I've still got a residual buzz from the Lips show last night

I hope they all sit around and hurley busts out some really chronic dank, shares it with Locke and then Locke tells us tons of answers "That 70's Show" style.

That's awesome you got to see the flaming lips.  That is one of the few bands still on my need to see live before I die list.  My friend caught them at Clutch Cargo's last year or something and said it was insane.  Confetti past the ankles.  Any highlights?  Are they touring on that DSOTM album or their original stuff?

I'm telling you, the show was on par with a MMJ. You walk out of there feeling like a different, better person. They are perhaps the only other band besides MMJ that has done that. The difference is MMJ feels way more unscripted.

That's why I've seen the FLips over 5 times my good man.

those pics are wicked.  I agree, they're a great, awesome band but they admit to playing to a backing track sometimes.  which is cool if it's what's gotta be done, but MMJ just lays that shit down and they lay it down hard.   I'd have fun at either show, both great bands.

There was definitely a backing track. I forget which song, but I think it was "yeah yeah yeah"

Anyway, so tonite's madness...Jack is flipped? Sayid "cured"? Widmore's latest betrayal?

I'm going to read that article you posted and then respond.  It's hard to take it.  There are weird things I notice and I don't if it's my mind just being a stoner or if it's legit lostage.  we'll see.

I got the impression that the Island is just a metaphor for the hospital and vice versa after tonight's episode.

or

Airplane (crash)/Hospital is to Island
as
Life and Death is to Faith/Spirituality

I don't think the black and white rocks are meant to represent "good and evil" so much but mabey more "reality and spirituality"

fuck yes.

I think it's that cyclical idea chode was talking about a bit earlier.  Only now I'm starting to think they are throwing in reincarnation.  I'm thinking in cases of people like Rodrigez and Michael there's some evidence pointing towards that if you kill somebody or do the "wrong" thing you may not transfer to the next "ring" of the proverbial tree so to speak.  Since they are all wiped clean from influence once they get to the island I think it's really just a roll of the dice from there.  cause and effect.

The Connection between the two parallel universe has been breached.  Locke said specifically he gave Claire something to hate.  They were Aaron being taken and convincing her they abandoned her when they could have saved her.  That psychotic attitude honestly seemed to get slapped out of Claire.  My theory is Locke needs them alive and couldn't risk the madness anymore, he needs to make sure kate stays alive, for now.  So he took it away, but like the temple fountain a certain innocence is lost from the murder and whatnot.   Like Michael she killed supposedly innocent people, maybe not.  The dude in the tent did say he'd snap her neck..?

Okay so Widmore isn't going to kill them yet but he holds all the "conscious" cards except for Jack.  Desmond is like the Wild Card or something.  When widmore threatened them with explosions tonight, he wasn't threatening to kill Locke, he was threatening to wipe out all of Lockes friends whom Locke most definitely needs.

Jack is called back to the island not by Locke, but by the fact that he's simply not suppose to just get there and then leave again.  I don't think it can be that simple.  I think he needs to stay on the island.  It could be any of the candidates who stay, as long as any one of them stay alive and don't leave I believe MiB might be trapped there, thus he's all friendly with them, but he doesn't give a flying fuck.   he would kill them if he could.

I noticed hurley's shirt started out initially as Red and now is Black almost.

sweatboard

Right, Right, Sticky but why does Jack WANT to stay on the island?

I think Jack jumping off the boat was symbolic of him wanting to "do good/save people" and at the same time coming to terms with Faith and a Higher Power playing a part in what he does. So if the Hospital is a metaphor for the Island, Jack's decision to be a Doctor would lead him to want to stay on the Island/Hospital but not just because he thinks he can do it himself......you can see Jack giving up his power, when he said in the jungle that he would follow Hurly.

So the balance of reality and spirituality becomes balanced with Locke and Jack.....Locke doesn't believe that science/Jack can cure him, but Jack doesn't believe that a magic island/faith can cure Locke....Jack cures Locke (will happen).  They were both right and they were both wrong.  I think Juliette will deliver Sun and Clair's babies in the alternate reality.
There's Still Time.........

Based on the interview in the thing I linked to yesterday, it seems clear that Jack CANNOT be a man of faith because they still view the duality of Jack vs Locke as central to the show.

I think you're right sticky...Locke needs anyone to leave because if any candidate remains then he can't. I also feel like as far as the "science" the reason is a matter of thermodynamics. Each one is a "constant" in an equation as well, and you can't have more/less at the end of the equation than what you put in to it.

I think Widmore's new hostility is because (a) he doesn't know who has or has not been corrupted and (b) he doesn't know if it's a trap. More specifically, he may know one of them is "corrupted".

It's clear Sun has transcended the timelines. I wonder who else?

I think sayid did after talking to desmond.  not sure, have to think about it a minute. no time at work.

I could have sworn they would have invoked the old anti-determinism debate when Claire told Jack that he made his choice the moment Locke spoke to him, the old "if you know your future, you have the choice to defy it"

You guys are killing me.  I should be working right now.  I love reading this stuff.  Great insight all around.  Where to Begin...  Perhaps with the ending, I think the final scene will be Jack, the new Jacob sitting on the beach talking to MiB, now in Locke's body, discussing vaguely the rules of the game just as Jacob and MiB were as the Black Rock approached.

I think Jack jumping off the sail boatis the next step in him realizing he just needs to be on the island.  Not that he has to control some task and get outcome C from actions A and B, like he always wants to.  He's about to give in and just sit down.  Then MiB is screwed.

I just can't figure out why Hurley went on the sailboat after being such a leader the last few episodes.  Did Richard not notice them bailing?

Finally, Claire's deterministic statement was so much so that it's obviously not true.  It's never been that way with this show.  It's always this extremely weird mix of fate and choice but choice is always part of it.  Clearly with Claire on the sailboat and Desmond not dead, she and Sayid are not "corrupted forever".  I was ready to let Sayid go too, and he was the one that got me hooked on the show about 3 episodes in...

Excellent points. Perhaps, and this is probably not specifically true, but in a broader sense MiB and Jacob need each other to exist - without evil, there is no good and vice-versa. Similarly, MiB causes Jack to stay and Jack is going to cause MiB to stay as well, and I think it will end the way you said...Locke and Jack sitting together.

Then again, the writers seemed to indicate there would be no stalemate, there would be a definite winner.

Alright there is one specific thing that is bugging the fuck out of me.

Walt.

If Locke takes responsibility for Christian, that's cool.  But MiB explains once again you MUST be dead for him to be able to take your form.

Is Walt Dead? Or is Walt an exception because he only exists in the crash timeline since Michael's "soul"/conscious..ness... is trapped there?

Sayid saved Jin and Jin is the main witness for that shooting.  Sayid could get let off the hook and praised as a hero if Jin stands up for him.

Kate said, fairly convincingly to Sawyer that she didn't kill anybody.  I kinda believed her.

Here are some caps of why I think explosives do not phase MiB one bit and they are purely to destroy the losties, his key to getting off the island.

People Freaking Out At Explosion:

MiB not giving a fuck, not even blinking an eye:

MiB ultra bad ass post-explosion:

Final Scene of Episode, MiB once again, still as a stone.  He is ground zero for where the bombs go off.  Everybody, including Jack gets LAUCHED, yet he is still just standing there:

Fuck those producers, they've lied and bs'd their way through the last 6 years it appears, they aren't going to give away anything just in case they fuck up big time with the ending.  It must be a risky ending, which to be is the way to go.

I was also thinking about why Widmore would send the freighter to Kill the Losties when he needed Faraday there.  I'm thinking He knew he wouldn't be able to kill the people he couldn't so he was just evening out the odds the best he could so Locke had a smaller army during the time we're watching now.   Faraday was really the main reason the freighter was sent.  It has to be the main reason.

Jacob is not some helpless bitch either, I'm betting he's got more to do with stuff than we can even imagine right now.  He definitely seems like God.  The Jewels in the center of the Island.  Human Form of The Conscious Mind.  Perhaps MiB is the subconscious or vice versa?

Maybe All MiB needs is One of them.  If the touch/given object thing is important then we have some major overlapping and shit going down.

Jacob gave Jack The Apollo Bar.
Jacob gave Kate the lunch box and poked her nose like a lil cutie
Jacob gave Sawyer A Pen
Jacob took Sayid's Love - Touched Him While Map questing.
Jacob gave hurley a guitar case/note for Dogan
Jacob brought John Locke back to life.  An apologized for "this having to happen" to him.

MiB gave Sayid Dogan's dagger back.
MiB gave/handed Jack a Torch after he was done talking to Claire
MiB grabbed sawyers hand when he almost fell off the rope ladder/saving his life.
MiB gave hurley his knife.
MiB gave Claire something to hate
MiB took away Sayid's emotions, but he did not counter in the fact that he was a trained torturer who is most likely trained in some kind of subliminal anti-torture mental tools.

MiB helped Desmond up.  Later at the well Desmond looked in the well, MiB says something about him wondering how deep it was and Desmond replies simply:

"you read my mind".

Does MiB have the ability to read thoughts? Is that why Sawyer is the best liar he knows?  How is that measurable unless you can read minds or something? MiB seems semi-precise.

No real conclusions just additions to previous theories.

This however is still how I see their "Multiverse/Universe" in the story:

Do not click these links if you do not want to see the call sheet giving the broad strokes of what may or may not happen in the final episode

Note: It's not a full/true spoiler because there is absolutely no context. It tells you who is called for in the scene and the "what/where" they're doing in about 5 words or less for each person.

I had to glance at that after you posted it.  too enticing.  you're right it really doesn't spoil much.

!SPOILER BUT NOT REALLY IT RELATES TO LINK CHODE POSTED IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT THAT LINK IS ABOUT STOP READING THIS SHIT BECAUSE IMMA BOUT TO SPOIL YOU!

so the water trucks to me were the only thing that confirmed shit.  I think we are all fairly confident the three characters mentioned would last until the end anyways.  the weirder part is how slim the list.

the water trucks make me still think they're going to sink the island and that's why it's under water when they fly over it so the magnetic field missing the plane or something to that effect.  but it seemed like that zoom in of it under water was the explanation, that shit is going to get sunk.  no doubt.  gives them a half-assly way to say it relates to atlantis.  If it in fact is true.

I could random hypotheticals for hours about this stupid piece of shit show it's too dorky.
