I'm 3 episodes into The Corner. It's good but doesn't compare to The Wire.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Just finished Episode 8 of the last season of the Wire..bout to watch the next 2 to sadly end my virgin viewing of the greatest series ever.

God Im so entranced to see how this ends

Episode 8 had me once again knowing why I love the show. Sometimes the middle episodes of the show get a little repetitive each in most of the seasons, but damn due they know how to start building it up to the finish.

SPOILERS BELOW

From episode 8:

-The opening scene was fantastic. I love how they open it up with Dukie looking for a job and going into the shoe store. Who is working there, Poot!! (dude who used to be homeboys with Bodie and their friend they had to kill in season 1). Just a great lookback and connecting people, as well as the irony that Dukie could go gangbang but couldnt be hired at a shoe store. Too true

- I cant believe Omar is dead!!!  :'( :'( Well, my buddy spoiled that for me so I was aware of it, but still...I cant believe that young hopper shot him in the domepiece from the back?! Even though I knew he was going to die, the scene before where he got the cops to scoop up a couple corner kids, then stole the stash himself, I felt like he was going to get it there. I dont know how David Simon made it feel that way, but somehow he made the viewer feel like Omar's demise was right going to happen on his next step..and it pretty much did

RIP to who in all liklihood was my favorite character.

-I got a bigtime laugh when McNulty and Greggs were at the FBI office and the Feds were going over the profile for Mcnulty's serial killer. The profile was Mcnulty to a tee. Then as they walk out, Greggs asked him if he thought they were onto something, and he replied, "Oh, there in the ballpark"  ;D ;D

Now on to Episode 9!!  :D

-At I know some people are great at investigating, but no way does anyone connect the clock pictures to a random baltimore map book/atlas...No way!

Season 5, Episode 9, of The Wire

Again, SPOILERS BELOW

Another well done episode...they really are hitting on all of the characters and trying to show how these people end up.

What I thought:

-Michael, you a smart one. However, I dont understand why they were going to kill him. You even hear both Marlo and Partlow say they dont think Michael snitched on them, so why go thru with killing 1 of the few people you have left on the streets. Additionally, Marlo even said nobody knew about the resupply who wasnt in prison except for Snoop - who was going to kill Michael.

-Kema, Kema, Kema...God damn girl! You need to sit on some chicky's face and think about that decision overnight!!! I cant believe she went to Daniels about McNulty's fixing of the homeless serial killer. As soon as I saw her reaction after McNulty told her, I knew this was bad news. Everyone else - Bunk, Lester, Sydnor, Carver, etc., displayed their initial (or prolonged in Bunk's case) disdain or uncertainty with this, but none of them even considered going to higher authorities about McNulty. As soon as she consulted Carver about how he turned on the other cop, I knew downward spiral was about to begin. Figures, you tell the woman about your sideplan to nab kingpin Marlo Stanfield, and since its not protocol, the badge carrying box-licker turns you in. What I dont understand most is that she was almost killed by drug dealers in the line of duty, but shes risking their arrest/going to jail because of protocol???!?  :-?

And since I havent seen the finale yet (Countdown 5 Minutes  [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]), Im not sure that Daniels actually goes through with this, but I dont see how he cant..

Now, back to the show  8-)

HOT DAMN!!!!

What a way to end the show!! I have never anticipated watching a series finale this much (hell, I probably never wanted to see a movie this much), and I must say, this was the best series finale Ive ever seen.

Most series finales are disgustingly disappointing (Seinfeld, Sopranos to a lesser degree for me), but this finale delievered.

SPOILER ALERT

Finale Thoughts:
-Loved that they revisited Cavanuagh's bar as the force (I know some MMJ poster here's favorite scene was when they were toasting the death of Det. Cole). Another great scene.

-Cant believe McNulty and Lester's reaction to Greggs telling them she gave them up to Daniels and will be the reason of them being fired in the near future...I woulda shanked that c*ntmuffin!!

-They really did wrap everything up great.
-I cant believe they turned Dukie into a dope fiend!! So sad, but just
like everything the shows about, it speaks the truth and someone in
his position would in all liklihood end up on that path.
-I loved that everyone on Marlo's crew get stuck in jail for 20+, but
he gets out and has to leave "the game". Then, 1st scene they show
of him he peaces on Levy and runs up on some corner kids. Holla at
 your boy!!
-Loved how they showed how Michael and Dukie were ending up, then
immediately cut to Namon, their friend who left the life, giving a
speech for the debate team.
-Cheese finally gets his. Popped by Tall Man in retribution for Prop
 Joe. Well done.

After watching the last few episodes in a row that had a good amount of Bubbles, I wish they gave him some more screentime throughout the season. Great character, who when you at the show from start to finish, really ends up in the best situation of any significant character in the show.

Now thats some great screenwriting right there  :'( :'(

I have really become a fan of "My Own Worst Enemy" with Christian Slater.  I am totally bummed that this show is going to be cancelled by CBS!  Maybe another network will pick it up.

Next month:  THE REURN OF JACK BAUER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

I finished Sunny In Philadelphia Season2 & have just started 30 Rock Season2...I love Tracy Morgan in that show  ;D

30 Rock is easily my favorite half hour comedy right now.  Office a close second.  I'm gonna have to start from the beginning of Philidelphia someday soon.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Oh, I love Curb, it could be #1 sure, but with two years in between seasons I don't think it qualifies for my current list!  There is a new season coming up I think in the next 6 months.

One of my favorite 30 Rock quotes.   "Who's drunk, has two thumbs and speaks limited French?   This moi."  *points to self with both thumbs*  Classic.   The writing at times is on par with Arrested Development.

I think the biggest problem with Little Britain USA is the addition of a laugh-track. It's distracting, annoying and unnecessary. Of course having easy access to the original Little Britain via various TV channel sources like Comedy  not to mention their DVDs hasn't helped, plus the duo peaked three years ago.
