Really enjoyed the first two episodes of NBC's Hannibal, it's got a pretty great cast. The actor who plays Hannibal Lecter takes awhile to get used to (the accent throws you off a bit), but he really brings a creepiness to the character. Bates Motel has only been OK to this point, Vera Farmiga is great but the writing has been pretty spotty. Bates Motel already signed on for season 2 though, so i'll be very disappointed if they cancel Hannibal.

When I first heard about Hannibal I laughed it off since its on a major network, but the trailers I saw looked interesting and it appeared they didnt back off the violence/gore which is what I wouldve expected for a major network. It was also getting surprisingly good reviews. Ive liked Mads Mikkelsen in pretty much everything Ive seen him in, I think he could be a great Lecter. I doubt I watch this until the 1st season is done though and I know it gets renewed for another season.
Call me old and conservative but I can't believe the extent of gore/violence on this network show.  Boobies =  but tearing out the eyes of a live woman?   Oh America.  Nonetheless I am loving this series.  They have done an excellent job avoiding the typical filler side stories that have become prereqs for long form TV dramas.  So far, only Fishburne's wife's health and some of Freddie Lounds' stuff fits that bill.  Isn't it already set for another 13 episodes?

If i remember correctly, it looked like he poked her eyes with his fingers until they went squish.   The episode with the cancer side story had to be edited after the bombing in Boston. I guess they had to remove some sensitive material and and then presumably add more of that cancer story.

They had the Corner on HBO on Demand earlier this year. The Wire is to TV what MMJ is to music for me. I watched 2 or 3 episodes. Did not find it entertaining, no matter how well it was made. Need the comedy relief of Bunk/McNulty, and Carver/and I forgot the fat bald Italian/Polish? guys name.

I don't want to speak for Simon and Burns, but I'd suggest the Corner's primary objective is not to entertain. I'd also suggest that for The Wire, but obviously there's a lot more entertainment in it.

The Corner is basically a re-enacted Documentary meant to take you to places you would never go on your own. It's meant to give you a look into the lives of the poor bastards born in a place just miles from your picket white fences. A look into the streets that you accidentally turn onto and check to make sure you locked your door.

Some poor bastards are born there and have no other choice but to grow up in it. By peering into their world from the comfort of your couch, it is hoped that perhaps your perception of your fellow man will be more enlightened.

I am 2/3 of the way through the 6 episode UK series The Fades. If you like horror, this is a pretty good show. I'm enjoying it. Not too creepy and not too gory.
Babe, let's get one thing clear, there's much more stardust when you're near.

I finally feel like I have a little closure.

Gandolfini was seriously always great.

R.I.P. James Gandolfini, weird timing as I am in the midst of going through The Sopranos series for a second time.

One more episode left of the first season of Hannibal, I love that they brought in Gillian Anderson to the show as I was a huge X-Files fan back in the day.

Like the first season? Has it been renewed for a 2nd season? I think I saw a headline the other day where its a show that is up in the air to be renewed.

They posted on their facebook page that it's been renewed for a second season a couple weeks ago.

Anyone catch the premier of the new FX show, The Bridge?

I have it set to record the series on my dvr and watched the first episode last night and I must say, I thought it was quite good.  I think this is going to be another good show on FX...

DVR'd and on the agenda tonight for viewing.  FX has taken the mantle from HBO for best series programming.

My two favorite series going right now are Sons of Anarchy and Justified!  And I have a feeling The Bridge will join them...

And it started with one of my top 5 shows... The Shield!

I'm a teacher, so I have two months "off" in the summer, but still have not found the time to keep up with some quality TV, like The River.  I picked up the full series Deadwood on BluRay, started watching Under The Dome with the wife, just finished Maron on IFC, and look forward to Breaking Bad on Aug. 11 and Boardwalk Empire on Sept. 8.

I'm also going to be switching from Comcast, here in NH, to DirecTV in Iowa City.  NFL Sunday Ticket is a main draw.  Gotta keep up with the Pats!

No! and I can't believe I missed it! I feel sure that TLC will rerun it. This guy and Tree Man are my favorite strange medical conditions. If anyone sees when they will replay it, let me know.

Tree man was incredible.  The doctors that worked on him where amazing.  Same with the scrotum guy.

I never watched it before, but a friend of mine will be on the Voice this coming Monday night. His name is Preston, and apparently will be on Adam Levine's team.  No idea how long he'll be on the show, but hopefully he sticks around for a while.  Good guy, and talented too.
