My complaint: I'm indoors all the time right now, and the air conditioning is making me sick. I don't care that it's hot outside, I'd rather be there than in the artificial indoor space-filler they call air.

Quitting smoking today!!!  (also posted in the current joys thread - can't decide)

I quit back in March & stayed smoke free for 4 months - then ran into a bunch o' illness (in medical terminology) & picked it up again (with the help of the free carton's of American Spirits at the Forecastle Fest.

Smoked on my break this morning & just decided - fuck it! I quit!

Goin cold turkey -  with the help of some cough drops (thanks aMD) & some flavored toothpicks (thanks to my gf)

maybe a quitting smoking thread?

aMD

you can do it, you just want to.  but if your medical shit starts going down again, i might think about picking it up again.

cough drops work and they're a lot cheaper than nicotine gum or the patch. i also used sunflower seeds when i quit.

stick it out. I was up to a pack and a half when I quit a while back. One of the hardest things I ever did was quit smoking, however, it's also has been the most rewarding. It will be hard, but it's "very simple"; just don't light up.

good luck!

the small barking, yipping, little dog that just moved upstairs from me.  it wouldn't be so bad, but they also have a giant dog.  so they run and play with bones on hard wood floors.  yep.  it is really loud.  i probably wouldn't mind so much if I wasn't trying to sleep.  boo hoo. :-/

my roommate has a girl over which is  8-)

but he told me to turn my music down, actually he came over and turned it down himself. which didn't fly (i turned it back up, i had KOL playing). he screams, shouts, and yells when he plays video games. i wake at least (no joke) twice a night because of it, and i don't say shit. i play once and a while, and i play music. i don't have it loud, maybe a little loud, but nothing like screaming at the top of my lungs.

I remember those days.....Something to be said for living in a 1 Bdrm or studio!

funny enough that our one rule is, if there is going to be humping....play music. i guess my music ruined the moment. but i'm pretty sure that the humping was done before i got home.  because they were all sleepy  ;D

QuoteLiving in Philly for the past year, my first complaints were about all the murders and fires....but lately, it's been al these rich Main Line fuckers having to tell me all about "going to the shore." The shore being the nasty disgusting New Jersey beaches (i'm from southern California, remember).

"Oh, I need that book today. I'm going to the shore tomorrow!"

"I didn't know the coupon expired last week, I was at the shore."

Fuck off!
is it true they have plastic palm trees there...if so I think I'm gonna puke

Tooth-ache!!!!   >:(

I'm just about ready to tear the whole bottom right row of my teeth out.

Angry Ewok

I'm restless. I'm glad that I work hard and stow up what little money I make, but I haven't got anything to come home to. It isn't easy having my fiance live a million miles away due to circumstances I can't control or even remotely change, especially when the future I want with her is one of the few things I'm really certain about. I'm just tired of working for peanuts, inhaling hazardous fumes all day for the sake of Sports Art, then coming home and being tired and grumpy. It's not an everyday thing, but its frequent enough that it's bothering me at 3 a.m.

At least I'm not in Iraq.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

megisnotreal

yeah, brad, why do you have to live 2 million miles away?  ;)

i have a pretty serious complaint right now:

a dog ate my glasses.

seriously. the lenses are so scratched i can barely see out of them. not only do i have to come up with money i don't have for more car repairs, but now i have to come up with five hundred goddamn dollars because my vision insurance doesn't start until NEXT YEAR.

what. the. fuck. i am beginning to think i was a major asshole in a past life.

Satellite TV...The other night I missed most of the Cubs game because of a storm, tonight I was watching Letterman waiting for the Steve Earle performance, and it cuts out right before he goes on, and of course, cuts back in right as Dave is doing his congrats...ugh, it's just really pissing me off right now, between missing shows and not having DVR...
We could.

Anybody catch this? What did he play?
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

good lord... speaking as a fellow glasses-wearer, i feel your pain. why are they so vital but so EXPENSIVE??  you're totally screwed if something happens to them (i had a little freak-out on the plane to bangkok last year as i put my specs on my lap to have a sleep, then they were gone when i woke up. being quite blind, i had a little panic cos a. i couldn't find them cos i couldn't SEE the stupid things and b. i'd only just left the country on a 4 week solo holiday to see the world, only to have the potentially ultimate irony foisted on me of being able to see shit-all without my glasses.... life is cruel sometimes. disaster avoided though, when i found them on the floor. thank god i didn't step on them with my hiking boots is all i can say)

so yes, i feel your pain meg, but there's no way you were a major asshole in a past life... not possible! you are lovely. and brad is lovely. and hang in there, it'll all sort itself out
:-*

Aw, that sucks.

My complain is rather trivial, the new Maroon 5 single, which gets lots of airplay lately. Good God, it's awful. That song rubs me the wrong way, kinda like My Humps used to do  :P
