QuoteMy company, CTV (Canada's #2 TV network), is laying-off over 100 Toronto-based broadcasters. I found this out today. I think I'll be ok (I don't know for sure though), but Scrooge is certainly alive and well.
Hope your job is safe Jaimoe! I lost a few students suddenly this month, worrying about the longevity of my school is giving me grey hairs. Hard times indeed!

QuoteHave been watching the news for a couple of hours now...a sad & shocking day in India.

just read that :-(

what's the status on this now? Sounded like the whole city was in some pretty deep shit a few hours ago. Hand grenades from the top of the Taj?
Looks like the siege is finally over:

It ends a three-day battle at landmarks across India's financial capital that has killed at least 155 people with that number likely to rise.

OK, so I had a small project to do today that ended up being a big mess. The fucking assholes that owned this house before us had a bay window installed in the living room. It's always been cold in that room and I found out why. The idots didn't put one bit of insulation in the frame of the bay portion. We were going to go in and backfill with some 2"+ thick foam insulation when we discovered that the carcas was built is such a way that it was about 3 times bigger then it needed to be. I spent the rest of the afternoon fucking re-building a bay window. Now I'm cold, tired and my knee hurts worse.

Oh and I saw my doctor this morning. I have to get an MRI on the knee. He did some range of motion things and I heard him say, "Oh, your leg shouldn't do that." Dammit.

It only gets worse baby!  ;) I am averaging about 5 hours a night right now.......My natural cycle (weekends, summers, etc.) is about 9-2, get up, laundry,  walk dog, movies and the like, go back to bed around 8-9 and then get up when crazylove does around 11-12. During the week I do not get that luxury of the morning nap, so I am worn out by Saturdays. That's when I fit in a 3 hour nap if I can!    :)

So that explains your crazy posting hours...

Any tips?

Our drive to Nashville on Sunday took 11 hours (2-3 more than it should have).  It was semi- snowy/rainy yesterday and now that its time to drive back home, the sun is out and it looks like it could be a nice day.  Hopefully the drive home doesn't take as long.

Also, driving a stick shift in Nashville sucks.  SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!

The Sound and the Fury

I should have read a plot summary first instead of going into it blind. The story itself is actually pretty good even though that first chapter sent me for a loop.

The 5 -6 hours at a time really is not that bad because it is usually very deep sleep. Exercise to insure that. We also run a 20 inch box fan on high at night to block any infringing train, traffic noise etc. Have a pattern of satisfying options of activities to do if you get up in the middle of the night so you do not feel like you are wasting your time. I would probably know every street and alley in downtown Athens if I were you... ;)

Hahahaha, I absolutely the love how shitty Nashville traffic is for absolutely no good reason at all. Atlanta traffic runs smoother than Nashville for some reason. It's like no one understands how to commute there or something. Still though, that's one of those quirky things you miss after you're gone, only because it's so damn ridiculous. Like 65 moving at 15mph southbound at the Demonbreun exit at 3pm on a Saturday. No sense whatsoever.

Tough thing about last night was that I was so tired that I had to stop reading, because the words weren't making sense. That and my legs were exhausted from working two long days in a row with about four hours sleep in between. Add on top of that that I accidentally took a 2.5 hour nap starting at 8:30 last night and you've got a miserable night of finally falling asleep at 6am, then waking up a 5pm this afternoon. So much for making sure that I went to my entire last week of classes.

I hate when my 'want to read list' is overwhelming. It's really damn depressing to realize I will never have time to read everything I want.

Have a you read Running With Scissors? It might make you feel better about your family.
