Yesterday, I was on the road for close to four hours (in the rain, in DC Beltway traffic)...more than 100 miles driven for a meeting that got canceled on Wednesday and for which I obviously didn't get notice.

It's nasty out, rainy, and thundering...in November?!?!?! I'm having flashbacks to 3 years ago when we got decimated with an ice storm. Shit started out just like this. I do nto want to live through that again.

i have been sick for the past 2 weeks and just can't get over it. i keep losing my voice (aka "the moneymaker"), and it sucks. i went back to the dr yesterday and got a shot of something and another round of antibiotics.

this antibiotic makes me want to freaking puke. i'm allergic to all forms of penicillin, so i have to take weird stuff instead. uggh. i feel worse than before.

People out doing grocery shopping for Thanksgiving...so seriously rude.  The woman at the Whole Foods' cheese counter is lucky she still has all her teeth after shoving me out of the way.  THE STILTON WASN'T GOING ANYWHERE, LADY!

Sometimes, living far from family is really trying.  

I just learned my favorite aunt passed away and I am scrambling to get to New Orleans for the services on Saturday.  She was a wonderful and strong lady who, despite having been in ICU for a week...and having had her last rites administered TWICE...managed to get out of the hospital and dress in full costume for Halloween two weeks later.   At the age of 90!
