Off to college tomorrow!  :D

Congrats.  My first day of college was the greatest and strangest day of my life.  I drove 13 hours with my stereo and speakers in two banana boxes, walked into my dorm room to be greeted by members of the R&B group Jodeci (they were friends of a fellow dorm person) who were amazed that I had so many bananas, and then hooked up my stereo and blasted Doolittle as loud as I could like some kind of deranged mating call.  I then drank a 6 pack of Labatt's Blue and met many of the people who remain my best friends to this day - including my wife.

Mine was similar in the fact I drank....an alarming amount. However my shitty Uni didn't have dorms for the 20,000+ students attending so I didn't get to meet memebers of a famed R&B/hip hop group. I believe I was listing to Goo that day (stands to reason as I was heavily into SY at the time). I probably passed passed out, alone. Ah that first year, I majored in Game Room at the Student Union, when i bothered to actually show up.

I actually went to the Wiki to find out what happened to Jodeci - apparently they were the godfathers of "new jack swing."  What is "new jack swing?"  I once watched an awful movie called Swing Kids with my college roomate (our t.v. got only one channel:  Lots of Blossum, Xuxa, and crappy movies) and as I recall it was kind of a Footloose set in Nazi Germany.  Does this have anything to do with "new jack swing?"
