QuoteThanks for posting that link Jaimoe, although sadly when I tried to access the feed, it came up blank and said "Canada Only!"  ;D >:(

I probably try to find a feed on justin.tv or something on Tuesday, hopefully

What about the NHL Network? It's gotta be shown on the internet in the US, somewhere.

I love that the US beat the Swedes since the latter always come into the junior tournament over-confident to the point of arrogance, but they've only won once in over 20 years. Ironically, their senior team players don't think the same way. The US actually picked their team in preparation for next year's tournament; they didn't expect to make it to the final. I bet they'll be at least co-favourites next year.

It'll be on NHL network, but my satellite package doesnt include it. I get NFL, but not NHL, which I still dont exactly understand

Can you call them and complain? It works with me when I complain to the fuckers known as Rogers here in Toronto (monsterous cable distributor and network giant that also owns the Blue Jays and Sportsnet). Maybe your satellite provider has missed something or if they haven't, ask if you could have a free trial of the NHL network or you'll switch companies.

Might work...DirecTV is pretty good at hooking stuff up like that, and Ive got plenty of discounts/hookups before. Cant feasibly say i'll switch because Im under contract. I dont have the most expensive package, but I dont have the cheapest one either. I'm sure the high end one includes it. I switched to a plan that was 15$ cheaper a few months back because I didnt think any of the channels that Id lose really mattered, although it would appear NHL network may have been 1 of them.

Ask for one add-on channel or ask why did you lose the NHL Network. It might work.

BTW, check out this website for live game streaming (it might only work when the games start, so check in tomorrow; you'll know if it shows the bronze medal game): http://hockeycanada.fasthockey.com/login.php

QuoteLooks like you got your wish! US v Canada. And it looks like we got our wish...no Mother Russia!

I think I mentioned it before...in my money fantasy league my roommate is all about having Russians on his team. I have a bunch of Americans. So far on the year I'm 2-0 against the Russians. But anyways, I was looking for a neutral hockey-mind to give me their thoughts about Russians, so I've been youtubing "Don-Cherry-Russia" and man!, he hates Russians more than I do, or he really loves Canada that much, or both. I love it!

Don doesn't trust Russians and doesn't think they play honourably. However, he does like Pavel Bure, Yashin, Ovechkin and
Ilya Kovalchuk. Don thinks in a Cold War "us against them" kind of way. He also doesn't like Swedes, but he liked Sundin.

Don does love Americans and has defended the US on many occassions on HNIC, even when the rest of the world was dumping on you guys. But Don is a true patriot. Have you seen the way he honours our dead Afghanistan soldiers at the end of every Coach's Corner? It's extremely emotional. Last Saturday's made me cry since a journalist was killed along with four soldiers... plus he also honoured a policeman that was murdered by a deranged RCMP officer in Ottawa.

I can give you an unbiased opinion on Russia and their Olympic team. They will be dangerous, but they could have been better, but Russian politics got involved, which means that they picked many non-NHL players; i.e., they chose KHL players instead.

Oh yeah, Tuesday's game will be great, as long as the IIHF chooses good referees.

I watched Miracle last night for the first time, and I too have the 'us vs them" thing going on. I did watch some clips where he honors the troops. Very moving! Then I saw a clip of Greg Gutfeld ripping on Canada. And I was kinda upset about it. But then I watched a clip of Tom Green doing the talking for me, by telling Greg Gutfeld and Fox News to fuck off. Made me feel better.

I believe Gutfield has retracted all of his ignorant anti-Canada comments. We can take it though, especially given the source.

On Remberance Day (or around that time - November 11th), Cherry honours EVERY fallen Canadian soldier from the Afghanistan conflict on his Coach's Corner segment. No one has dared to call him out on it (this is the CBC and the network is gov't and thus tax-payer funded).

What a game! That comeback from Canada the last few minutes of the 3rd was ridiculous. How high is that Eberle kid supposed to go? USA's speed looked great, and that goalie Campbell they brought in looked pretty good too.

Question though: so is Pietrangelo actually pronounce Pet-trangelo or were the announcers just dumb? Ive only heard that name pronounced Peter-angelo, and hockey players are usually the easiest phonetically.

That Canadian Nike commercial they played about 30 times actually didnt bother me since they had Wolf Like Me playing over it  8-)

Yeah, that was a good game last night. I thought the Canadian fans displayed great sportsmanship after the game was over. I was a little surprised. Next year there will be more Canadian fans in attendance, even if it is in Buffalo. Wonder if K went to any of the games?

Nobody takes Nike hockey seriously, at least not here. It's more of a stick to everything else nike, and leave the hockey to the actual hockey companies. Same way in Canada, Jaimoe?

It's Bauer Nike in Canada (Canadians revolted when Nike changed the Bauer brand to just "Nike", so Nike changed it to Bauer Nike).

Yes Heady, they pronounced Pietrangelo correctly. Oh, and Eberle is an Edmonton draft pick. He went high in last year's draft. I believe Hall is the only non-draftee on the team.

As for the game, I thought the US outplayed Canada for most of it. I also think Canadian was out-coached. One thing that I don't understand was the cuteness to the Canadian game: lots of drop passes, extra passes, carrying the puck into the zone instead of dumping it in the corner etc...

The US are a really good team and played better as a team than all the teams in the tournament; but I don't think they are the most talented. As we all know, talent alone doesn't win you gold. Well done US.

That's kinda the way it was here. I remember people upset about it being called just "Nike". But people still represented just "Bauer" proudly. Smart of Nike to realize their mistake.

Fantasy hockey update.

I did a blockbuster trade. I got Backstrom and Green. (already had Semin), but anyways...you've heard of people giving their fantasy team a fake pep talk to rally the troops, but I took it further. I went to both Green and Backstrom's website, and told them about the trade and continue to do well now that I have them. That's just how serious I take it!

I wonder if they talked about it in the locker room. Worst case, they think I'm an idiot, like my roommates think. Best case, they find humor in it and hook me up with some free shit.

BTW, the US won the U17 world hockey tournament too. They beat Team Ontario 2-1 (we send a few teams). Congrats!

Ordered a vintage Lemieux jersey from that site you told me about True, and its badass. Got here in only 3 days from Hong Kong too. My sister said the delivery guy asked her if she was getting jerseys  ;D

It looks like the real mccoy to me. Got a Clemente jersey as well, and that even has tags on it that say its a Cooperstown Collection jersey which are pretty much the most expensive baseball jerseys, has a $300 price tag, and I got it for under $29  :o

I dont know how they do it, but god bless the Chinese

Seriously? They do it with child labourers and/or a very large adult workforce that gets paid next to nothing.

You mean pirated? Then maybe. The Chinese are kings of the world when it comes to pirating and forcing kids to work for nothing. India ain't much better.

What website? Probably the same one I've used. But 3days from Hong Kong is awesome! Tell me you didn't get that ugly solid yellow Pirates jersey. My buddy has that one, and yeah, ugly. I know someone that orders a boat load of jerseys, and then sells them on ebay and craigslist. Some money to be made.

Nah, Buccos jersey is black. Says Pirates across the front, it isnt the one with the "pirate" logo. Pens jersey is yellow based though.

Never thought about that, but yeah, I bet you could make some decent coin selling them on ebay, especially since you would be reselling them from inside the US and people wouldnt 2nd guess it because its not coming from hong kong.
