It really was an outstanding team effort. Blanco made two amazing catches in left field! Pagan and Scutaro each had like 8 or 9 pitch at bats in the 3rd inning off of Verlander, which (other than Pablo's first inning shot) was the start of the Giants really doing damage, the start of them getting to Verlander. Zito had another excellent start, and Timmy was just nasty! I was hoping they'd pull him after the seventh, save his arm. It was just an awesome, all-around performance by the Giants.

Bumgarner can do this tonight. He can pitch a strong start at home. Let's GO GIANTS!!!

Great game!  I love those close low scoring big games when it's not giving me a heart attack.   The tv coverage has been great I think.    Happy for Bumgarner to turn it around.   I like him.    The momentum is just rollin with the Giants.   Wow.
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

That was a great game, and I was having heart attacks. Every time the heart of the order came back up for the Tigers, it just got TENSE. Bumgarner was awesome though, what a game. He is just a tough kid, straight up. What a fuckin' stud. Fister pitched a great game too. That guy's tall!

I agree BH, I love those close, tense games where both starters are rolling though, and in the WS, they're just amazing drama.

That play at home plate on Fielder in the second was spectacular.

On to Motown! Can't wait for Saturday!

There was a stolen base late in game 2.   I can't remember who stole the base.   But the throw was RIGHT on the money but the runner got in just a split second before the tag.   Anyway the slow mo replay was amazing.    It's just so cool to see the best of the best playing at such a high level in a competive game.   I love baseball.   Usually I don't watch after the Cards get knocked out because I'm pouting but I can't get enough this year.

I think that was Pagan, in the 8th.

And yeah, the camera work, on the fly editing and presentation of some of this stuff has been amazing. I don't remember it being this good (could have something to do with me getting a new TV a few months back ). The slow-motion shots of some of the pitchers and their arms whipping around is just unreal!

The great camera work last night also revealed that the umpiring crew has been dead on. They've really been doing a great job through the first couple games.

One more thing about Game 2 (for now)...I was really glad to see Fister shake that ball to the head off and keep pitching. That's always scary, and he was a warrior through the next several innings. Great game for him.

Amazing final game. Amazing season. I'll say it, I enjoyed this one more than 2010. Just unbelievable drama, and then a final week and a half of unbelievable domination. Our pitchers were outstanding, every one of them. EVERY ONE OF THEM THAT PICKED UP THE BALL shut down the opposition. I've never seen that, it was just awesome.

That's one of their best! You ever try the Eclipse?

We have an office at 3rd and Market, and I might go down and "work" for the day on Wednesday, not sure if I can swing it though. Halloween in San Francisco is a spectacle in it's own right, but throw in a World Series Championship parade, and you've got the makings of an amazing day. I haven't seen what the weather is supposed to be like, hopefully no rain at least.

One other baseball thought...the Giants pitchers were amazing for the last seven games, and the constant with them all was Posey. He didn't hit that well in the WS, but he worked masterfully with our pitchers, and played outstanding defense as well. His HR last night allowed the 10th inning to happen, and no Giants (or Reds) fan will ever forget his Grand Slam in the NLDS. He really did have a great season, especially if you consider the injury he was coming back from. He is your NL MVP.

Oh, and also...

I'm amazed that it was a sweep.   Especially after coming from behind in both playoff series.  What a crazy last few weeks.     It feels weird now having a team that has won twice in 3 years!

yep, it's amazing stuff.  I still have 4 different bottles from last year left, and I did the Eclipse futures sale this year, I'll have 10 bottles in December.

I know, it does, a little. But mostly, it feels wonderful.

Hey, did you end up going to one of the NLCS games?

I got to go to game #2 against the Cardinals.   We had nosebleed seats and my husband was a nervous wreck, so we ended up staying on Club level, just moving from window to window.      My 81 year old aunt sells beer on the Club level so we had just asked to run in and say hi to her and we never left.   It was a beautiful night!

THAT is the job i want when i am that age!
i remember going to games at candlestick and seeing old women there, orange & black afghans across their laps, scorecards open and thinking, "someday i want to be that woman."

bbill, thanks for pointing out Posey.  he really has been an anchor on this team. you think he called that last fastball on Cabrera?  bad ass!  that pic you posted was about my favorite moment of the celebration.  it was a split second between buster catching that last pitch and taking his mask off to run to the mound.

and Blanco made 3 difficult CLUTCH catches this series. (remember he had a crazy catch that contributed to saving Cain's perfect game).

still i love that Scoots got the RBI that won the series.  most appropritate.

I don't mean to wreck a good vibe, and this is obviously not representative of a wonderful city and fan base, but can you believe assholes like this?:

Oh man, Ruckus, I just tried to imagine how happy B-more would be if the Orioles won the World Series...

I'm guessing the National Guard might have to be deployed around the entire length of 695 to contain the joy.
