Fantasy Football 2010

I haven't been paid yet. I got a hold of both of my peeps but neither has come through yet. I hope this doesn't start to be a problem for us. We've been going good on the honor system in baseball and football for 2 or 3 years now.

Beat me to the punch by a minute or two aMD...don't worry, I'm good for it. Just been busy...you know how that goes. Barely been home since before Christmas. Tonight tho. Unless my internet at home suffers some sort of catastrophic failure (it IS flaky). But then, tomorrow morning. Thanks for the patience, hombre.

I do hope EazyE sees the messages I sent him, though. I know Clarkwork is good for it. I got a message from him last week saying that he would pay from work.

I havent gotten the $500 I won in my other league yet and your still complaining about getting my $20 a few weeks after the fact? :P

Hey to each their own. It should never be the responsibility of the winner to have to track down his/her winnings and the amount doesn't matter. I run 3 big money leagues and each team's roster gets frozen after the 1st week if they haven't paid. I don't get paid as commissioner and it shouldn't be my responsibility to waste my time to collect others' money. In this case, we didn't really have a commish to take care of that. I'm sorry you haven't gotten paid in your league but that has nothing to do with the fact that everyone else paid on time in this league, the one I was in. :P

What happened to the honor system? Why do you not think it's wrong that I have to nudge and bug certain people when I shouldn't have to? I'd love a good explanation for that. After the season ends and we determine the payouts, people should find out where their money should go and send it, end of story.

I think mine was a little late, but was due to not using paypal enough and screwing up the transfer.

I want to echo what Ruckus said. Sure, it's only 20 bucks. But 20 bucks is 20 bucks. That'll buy my beer for the weekend. Setting up the league and trying to schedule the draft and make sure that everyone knows when it is can be kinda tedious in itself. I feel kinda petty having to track someone down and ask for their cut. I don't want to be bothersome, but fair is fair, ya know?

Thanks to Clarkwork for the communication. I wasn't complaining because he kept me in the loop about what was going on.

I still haven't heard from EazyE though.

If we play for money next year, I think it should get collected at the beginning of the season and issues accordingly at the end of the season.

When I looked at his profile on the forum, he hasn't been on here in a while. I sent him a message through the Yahoo league as well, but it may be an email address that he doesn't use very much.

It's probably not a case of him intentionally avoiding the situation. I hope not, at least.

I agree with paying upfront somehow. Maybe we could all submit it to someones paypal, then that person pay everyone??? I know baseball is coming up so maybe we can try with that league?

Yeah, that sounds good clark. I can volunteer to be the person. I have some experience with kind of stuff so hopefully you all know I'm honest (see: 1996 demo tape fiasco).

It took me a little bit to pay aMD, I'll admit. The only thing I'll add is that a timeline really wasn't established up front, as far as "when to pay." To some, payment within a week or two is fine. To others, they want it yesterday. And then, like y'all said with E, some people aren't on here as much as others, and it's easy to slip your mind. I highly doubt anyone on here would intentionally screw someone else over...at the risk of not being welcome here. Anyway, glad everyone seems to be getting theirs.

If we do this again, money up front sounds good, or at the very least, set a date as to when payment is expected (and don't make it the very day the season is over!)

You're right. We didn't set a timeline and we probably should have. I guess it's just a little frustrating to have to email someone and say, "Hey, um, you owe me some money". I definitely didn't like doing it. It made me feel weird.

As I mentioned with EazyE, he hasn't been on the forum in a while, so it's probably slipped his mind. But that makes even more of a case for collecting money up front next year. If he doesn't show back up, then the runner-up from this year (me) gets the shaft because I didn't get my share of the money. Ultimately , it's not a big deal... just a little frustrating.

If the money is in one big pot from the get-go, then something like this can be avoided next time around.

I guess I see it the way Hawkeye does. I guess I wouldn't care if I got paid a few weeks after the season ended. Just as along as I get paid. I trust Dylan being the person we all pay. But we can use Paysafe. It was started by the person runs Fanball, and it's free.

This is basically where I was coming from...Ive never been paid within a month of the season ending, and thats in leagues where all the money has already been paid & accounted for. I guess I kind of assumed paying a few weeks after the season was over would be fine because thats how its always been in other leagues Ive played in, and also because Ive personally never been one to shake people down for my winnings unless the super bowl has been played and I still havent been paid.

Im fine with paying before the season next to aMD or whoever we designate as the accountant. I wouldnt mind upping the ante either.
