So what's the price of a pint where everyone lives?  I remember being astounded after drinking $2.00 Blue Moon pints in Knoxville last year.

We don't do pints here is the US (at least in most of the Philly area). They give us glasses that they call pints, but do not hold the amount of liquid that would be considered a pint.

So a "glass" of 12 ounce beer here ranges from 2 to 5 bucks depending on the place.

A lot of places in the city have $1 or 2$ PBRs

Some Canadians - including my server wife - refer to the 16oz "large draft" as an American pint. British/Canadian pints are 20oz.

Are there any white people in Canada?
Not the one thing. I used to think I
could at least some way put things right.

Although some Canadian pubs/restaurants serve 16oz pints and charge the same as a 20oz pint. Sure, the glass looks big, but it ain't.

That being said, to answer K's original question, domestic and premium pints in Toronto range from dive-bars ($4.50-$6.00), the average pub ($5.00-$7.00), better pubs and restautants ($6.00-$8.00). Import Euro-beer is expensive, but Guinness can run anywhere from $6.00-$8.00.

One great thing is that as of last year, Toronto has been easing Happy Hour back into pubs and restaurants, after a 10 year absence. You can get pints in some places for lower than $4.00, and often the brands are imports.

Depends on the brand. Bud and Miller are cheap and you can get a 16oz pint for roughly $2-4 depending on where. The better stuff is $4-7, on average. The bar I go to before shows is $6.50 for Guinness and Bass.

Has anyone tried a 48 proof beer? Apparently, Tennesse has made the sale of high alcohol beers legal here. Googling, I saw that Alabama has too. A local ABC store is setting up a special shelf for these beers.

Exactly! I love college.

Thanks for the input folks.  Looks like we all pay about the same price to whet our whistles.  I've befriended two bartenders at my favourite watering hole and can have a meal, a few pints, and a couple of shots for $20 and a decent tip.  Love it.
