Saw cloverfield...I thought it was pretty good after puking because of motion sickness.

I might have missed a post about this - if i did, please spare me your collective wrath - but I read somewhere that they are already working on a sequel.
So soon after payday, know it seemed a shame!

Anyone seen Grey Gardens?

I'm not sure why they adapted it for broadway...as a musical.

OMG Grey Gardens.....I thought I was the only one in the entire universe that has seen it.....ha-ha....you gotta see the Beales Of Grey Gardens, which consists of all extra footage not used in Grey Gardens.....it's just as good.....amazing stuff.

Just saw Disturbia.....not bad, not bad.....Shia is such a man now....lol.

There Will Be Blood - a difficult modern western that offers no easy answers. The film reminds me somewhat of Terrence Malick's Days of Heaven.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - a really good film. Was Bob Ford really a coward or was he the embodiment of Jesse James? If the latter is true, then both were cowards. Goddam it I psychological love westerns.

Juno was a good little film but a best picture nomination?!!

Christian Bale double bill...Rescue Dawn, very good & 3:10 To Yuma, very disappointing.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Article here on John Alvin who passed away at the weekend. It's interesting to see how many excellent movie posters he designed:

I just saw Old Joy this weekend. Damn, it almost made me cry. I love it when good movies do that. Except that happened in Superman Returns, too. Right at the end. When he's watching his kid through the window?

The river is moving. The blackbird must be flying.

IMAX Deep Sea on DVD. I wish I could've seen this at the theater in 3D. Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet narrate, Johnny's voice is perfect for this.

That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Speaking of posters this is pretty cool:

I didn't like the 3rd installment much & have lost a lot of respect for Harrison Ford since he started kicking about with an earring (& made one shit movie after another!) but I have to confess that I'm a little excited about this...

I just saw "The Last King of Scotland".  Wow, scary. And not as in horror.

ManNamedTruth

Been watching a lot of movies lately, due to the snow and from exchanging DVD's every week with a friend. From the last week or so:
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
A Bronx Tale
Donnie Brasco
Little Miss Sunshine
Garden State
Eastern Promises
all were excellent films. thanks to this thread for giving me movie ideas-Eastern Promises is a good change of pace (yet similar) to the usual italian mobster movies.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

That movie shook me more than any i've ever seen...even more than ET when I was four.  Probably because of the truth in it.

How cool is John C. Reilly in Boogie Nights? Porn star, but also songwriter and aspiring magician!

Next up, Pan's Labyrinth, heard good things about this one.
