QuoteIs it bad that I laughed my ass off non stop during Religulous?
Should I feel guilty?  As a pacifist, half Asian Indian half Japanese guy of no religious affiliation, I couldn't get enough.  I'm wondering why Maher didn't take shots at us Buddist/Shintoists.

How are you half asian, half indian, and half japanese?!??

Im not a math major, but thats 1 'half' too many my man

LOL.  If you read carefully, it states half Asian Indian.  When I state Indian in the states, too many people construe it to mean Native American.  Therefore the use of Asian as a modifier for Indian.

Having said that, I do have a buddy who's half white and half Japanese but is named Jerel so he actually does tell people he's half white, half Japanese, and half black and confuses the hell out of people.

Just look at Squints!!!

That was great...Ive been waiting to see a Where Are They Now? on that cast for awhile now

That Funny or Die video Squints did was pretty good too...."I did Sandlot 3, Squints is back baby!"

And for awhile, I thought Smalls was in more stuff bc he looks a lot like the kid who was in Mystic River (whose GF is murdered)

Zack And Miri Make A Porno - Decent movie. It was cool to see places I drive past often in a movie.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Rented The Happening and Pan's Labyrinth tonight. Wasn't necessarily disappointed by The Happening so much as I was underwhelmed. It was a good idea, but I don't think Shyamalan is quite as twisted as is necessary to have made that work really well. That and the characters just didn't fit it so well. Zooey Deschanel didn't fit too well for the role she was cast in, and it seemed like the characters were missing a little of the edge they needed. Really dug Mrs. Jones towards the end, and I think it's the fucked up survivors that make movies like these as scary as they can be. In a movie where the paranormal takes humanity through the ringer, the most important part isn't that aspect of it, it's the way people turn twisted through the situation that is the real horror of it. You only get glints of that until the situation on the porch, and then Mrs. Jones comes in and serves as the culmination of all that, but she seemed out of place in a world where everyone was so intent on working together. Could've probably used a little more science to it, as the "happening" varied so much as to how far-reaching or close it affected people. I feel like it was a really really solid and horrifying idea that just wasn't executed to its full potential. I've still not given up on Shyamalan, even though it seems like all my friends are all very wary of him. I think he's got more good work in him, but he might need the vision of a director he really respects to work alongside of to help him make his next masterpiece. I feel like he needs to be stretched and challenged by someone with a very different but complementary vision, and I'd like to see what happens there.

Pan's Labyrinth? Now that...good Lord. That is a damn movie. I don't even know how to approach it. Beautiful and haunting and sad and absolutely incredible. Loved, loved, loved it.
The river is moving. The blackbird must be flying.

Quantum of Solace last night.  It's not a Bond film.

The Visitor - a small, quiet film about a widowed 60 year-old professor (played wonderfully by Six Feet Under's Richard Jenkins) finding purpose in life in an unexpected way. A beautiful film really, written and directed not surprisingly by Tom McCarthy of The Station Agent fame.

It's a well made movie with very good performances, but I really thought the script wasn't anything special. It was a very basic story with very basic characters and I thought a lot of the dialogue was quite repeditive. The Station Agent was great, but I think this was a step down, though not a huge one.
