Quotei watched the orphanage last night. excellent film.

Ive only heard very good things from people about this flick. Good as in, its on a short list of the best thrillers/horror movies that have come out the last few years

I really need to just put it on top of my netflix queue and watch it!

QuoteQuantum of Solace last night.  It's not a Bond film.
The name's Bourne, James Bourne?  ;)

For real?! if so, TOTAL bummer!

Casino Royale was so sick, got all kinds of acclaim, and made a lot of money. Its not like they needed to do something like this to get people into the theater, so WHY?!?!

tom, I think youre the 1st person Ive heard say absolutely anything not totally negative outside of a few who told me its so bad its good/funny. I despise M.Night, but Im glad some people can sort of like his movies  :D

i want that hour and a half back---awful--why do people watch this guy's movies? because he's got a cool name, i keep giving his movies a chance.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

I thought The Sixth Sense was great, but I've hated everything else. I used to see his stuff in the hope that since he'd made one really good movie, he might be able to do it again, but after The Village I gave up. So I haven't seen The Happening, and I probably never will.

LEATHER KID

Role Models.  Paul Rudd is hysterical.
IT'S ALL FUCKIN' CHEESE!!

You didn't like Unbreakable?
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Not really. I never did see the whole thing though. Just random bits of it on TV.

WTF?!!

Will Smith's young son Jaden has landed the lead role in an upcoming remake of The Karate Kid, according to reports.

Jaden, 10, is Smith's eldest son with his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and previously acted alongside his father in 2006 movie The Pursuit of Happyness.

And now the youngster looks set to start forging his own acting career with a role in a new version of the hit 1984 film - playing the part made famous by Ralph Macchio, according to Variety.com.

Oscar-winner Hilary Swank took over the main role in The Next Karate Kid in 1994.

The new film, which will see Smith take on a co-producer role, will be relocated to Beijing, China, but will explore the same themes as the original three pictures, with a bullied youth learning to stand up for himself with the help of a wise martial arts expert mentor.

You can't top a perfect movie. I get a horrible feeling about this.

Some of those people got on there just so they wouldn't feel left out. Best supporting actress or best actor? No chance. Ditto to Morgan Freeman. But if Heath Ledger doesn't get a nomination, I think about half the normal audience will watch.

I think all that its saying is what each categories options are for Dark Knight, and nothing more.

I dont think anyone in the acting categories outside of Ledger is even a consideration, but it certainly could be nominated for things like art direction, cinematography, production, and dare I say best pic (seems like a weak year for this, though I bet half of the movies nominated come out in the next couple months). Still, I think it deserves a nom, but not a win in that one

And for the sake of not quoting like 4 posts:

- I think M Night is everything thats wrong with hollywood. A terrible director whose movies suck but still gross close too 100 bc of the name of a movie he made a decade ago. IMO, 6th sense wasnt even all that good bc I knew John McClain was dead 15 minutes in. If you like 6th sense, check out Stir of Echoes

- 21 was entertaining enough. I enjoyed the 1st half, but it went downhill kinda fast from there. Basically, it was what I expected. Spacey def held the movie together, if it wasnt for him, I think this movie could have been made by MTV. Im sorry, but Rounders will never be topped as the greatest card movie ever (and I have seen The Sting and Cincinnati Kid  ;))

- Making another Karate Kid was a bad idea when they had that shemale make the 3rd one 15 years ago. This, is just, I dont even know. But, because his dad is Will Smith, Im sure itll clear 100 mill  ;D

I don't get what people see in her. That being said, I do love Chinatown. I'm watching Pulp Fiction right now, skipping most of the Bruce Willis part. I always found it pretty unpleasant, what with his annoying girlfriend and the rape and so on (Chris Walken kicks ass though). However, I've decided based on the John Travolta/Sam Jackson half that this is probably my favorite movie.

capt. scotty

You cant skip parts of your favorite movie!!

That said, watched Get Shorty for the 1st time in awhile last night. Great flick, and definitely rewatchable and still just as good. Its almost like they had Travolta reprise his Pulp Fiction role for that movie, but instead of a hit man, he was a loan shark

Be Cool was pretty good for what it was too, but it was no Get Shorty
