Finally got round to watching The Road last night.  It was good, but I preferred the book.

Aw cmon. Jack Black is on a different page than Seth Rogen. Have you ever watched Airborne? Classic Black. I don't think he's a fat Jew either. :P

Ha! or Heat Vision and Jack (a cancelled pilot you can find on youtube) with JB as an astronaut on the run with his talking motorcycle voiced by Owen Wilson, Classic! Anyways I understand people's gripes with these 2 comedian-actors as their careers have been at times, hit or miss, and there is some oversaturation - but that can be said for many actors who are on a hot streak. On the whole I believe they are very enjoyable and come from great comedy backgrounds Rogen (Undeclared/Freaks and Geeks) Jack Black (Tenacious D/High Fidelity). I could never slight these guys due to their amazing early output.

I saw Hall Pass with Owen Wilson friday nite.   Without giving any of the movie away I thought it had some really funny but VERY crude scenes.  I heard a lot of gasps from the women in the audience.  I would have to say if you liked the Hangover you would like this movie IMO.

Nice. It looks like the best Farrelly Bros flick since Me, Myself, & Irene (which isnt exactly saying much seeing what theyve made since)

Saw this last weekend and thought it was hilarious. There were some really crude parts and Jason Sudeikis had some good moments. Also...I would love to meet a woman who would ever fall for the "fake chow."  ;D

You will have to meet my wife sometime  ;)   num num num num  :P

I don't believe it!  ;D

I've been lucky. The last three movies I watched were all excellent.

The Parking Lot Movie A cute documentary, spanning three years time, involving a group of parking lot attendants in Charlottesville, VA. It's very quirky and interesting to watch how these people analyze their own lives and humanity in general. It surprised me that it was so engaging (and funny).

Never Let Me Go A love triangle involving two girls and a boy who are raised in a boarding school in England. I don't know whether or not to give away the plot of the film, because it's better to find out WHY they're at the school at the same time they do. Since it happens early on, I'll go ahead and talk about it. They're clones. They, and every student in the school, were created to be donors. These children will not grow into functioning adults in society. Instead, they will start giving their first donation during their mid-to late twenties. After about the third organ they donate, they will "complete" (die). Their donations have allowed the normal population to live longer than 100 years and the donors are treated as non-humans. Subtexts of the film include free will, how we treat our children, and growing from a child into an adult. Even with the science-fiction plot, it's an incredibly beautiful film and at the last scene I sobbed like an idiot. Waterworks, people.

Cedar Rapids Ed Helms plays an incredibly naive guy who lives in a small town in Iowa, sells insurance, and has sex with his old middle school teacher. He travels to Cedar Rapids for an insurance convention and learns a lot about life, people, and how to think for yourself. Cute film.

I'm half-way through this book so I didn't read your review but hopefully I'll be watching the movie soon.

A couple cool, creepy supernatural movies:  "Case 39" and "The Last Exorcism"--potential for disturbed sleep from both of these.
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

Made the mistake of watching Rise of the Footsoldier at the weekend.  Awful.

Get Low 4/5 stars. Great acting, Duvall was excellent as was Murray. Heartwarming and heartbreaking. Great storytelling. Great cinematograpgy and costume design. A movie you will only need to watch once.

Sanctum - .5/10 - it was fucking stupid. it could have been a 45minute movie.  it probably would have been better if it would have been shorter.

The Resident - 4/10 - spoiler alert hilary swank gets roofied the whole movie by a guy who lives in the walls.

Inside Job - not going to rate it a number, but it was solid as fuck if you're down with documentaries.  the pace is good.  informative.

Capturing The Friedmans - about a family with some very perverted people involved.  it's pretty fucked up I guess once things start rolling and you learn more about each member of the family.

Little Fockers - 5/10 - I thought it was going to be a family movie, which it sorta was but it was more about Deniro/Stiller again.  some funny parts but nothing spectacular.  a money making movie for sure.  nothing more.  recycled jokes from the first one, etc.

I need new movies to watch, any thoughts slutties?

I'm likin' the look of Rubber!

Saw Cyrus this past weekend.  A dark comedy, but I really liked it.  Perhaps in part because I am in love with Marisa Tomei (John C. Reilly gives me hope; oh, wait, I'm married.  Nevermind.).  Also, Jonah Hill, as Cyrus, plays an Omnichord!

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Paranormal Activity 2: Not quite as good or scary as the original since we already know the gimmick, but it does a credible job of fleshing out the backstory. The best thing I can say about PA 2 is that it leaves me wanting to see Paranormal Activity 3.

are they making a 3rd one?  Spielberg bought that franchise right?  I dug the first one but thought 2 was kind of wankish.  my mom thought the first movie was real ahaha.  it freaked her out big time.  very hilarious.

The Speed Of Thought - 5/10 - predictable and boring.  5 out of 10 because it had potential but never hit the mark.  if it was more like what happens at the end it'd be worth watching.  maybe.

I think the 3rd film is already in production. One thing that bothers me about both movies is that both husbands are unlikeable/jerks.

Went to Cedar Rapids last night. Of course there were a lot of one-liners. It was nice to laugh pretty much through the whole movie. Great cast. Great movie.

Battle LA - It was pretty good. It's hard to make a Alien invading earth believable, but it was done pretty well. It had plenty of action.

The Adjustment Bureau - It was ok. I really didn't think it was that good, but I could see why some people would like it. I actually googled what Matt Damon's new movie was, because I forgot the name of it. So maybe that shows you how much I liked it.
Much Greater Than Science Fiction

Just finished The Next Three Days with Russell Crowe. Pretty intense. It kept me interested. 4/5 stars.

Source Code - Great Film! Director Duncan Jones (David Bowie's son) returns with his second film, if you haven't seen Moon I recommend that as well. It has a lot of similar themes that Moon had - morality, humanity, and emotion. This time around Jones had a bigger budget and tacked on a slightly more mainstream ending. Jake Gyllenhaal was pretty solid in it, not since Zodiac have I had much interest in his more recent roles. The movie didn't have a big weekend, but I think it will hang around awhile through good word of mouth.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Have to say I think Battle LA was terrible. I expected a "Cloverfield" type flick that followed one group of people during a tragedy, but didn't necessarily make them out to be more important then anyone else, or completely tell the whole story. I would've liked that, as I liked the first half of the movie. Towards the end it just got ridiculous. The main guy was way over dramatic and it's hard to believe that an alien population that is destroying the Earth entirely can be stopped by 5 people.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...
