Come on, let's hear some thoughts on the etown sessions..."Don't Get Sentimental on Me" and "Everything Dies" are Ryan at his best, in my opinion.

I also enjoy his voice far better on these recordings then some record records.

How could I forget to mention that the "Elizabeth, you were born..." or known just as "Elizabeth" on the sessions is awesome, and I prefer it to the "29" version, which I consider fantastic.

As a whole, I wouldn't say the best stuff by him, but if you could cut it down to maybe 10-12 songs, it'd be awfully close to oneof his best efforts.

I don't know the song names yet but I'm digging it. I love this era of RA more than most so I'm taking it all in. All of the songs that I was familiar already are great versions like Two and Everybody Knows. Great version of Dreams of the Working Class (I'm guessing that's the name). I'm really into that song right now.

I hear ya on taking this era all in. This was done in 2005, so it comes with what a lot of fans consider his highest point with "Cold Roses," "JCN," and "29."

I love listening to a lot of his albums inbetween albums, "The Suicide Handbook," "48 Hours" and the sort, so this one really had my interest for the past couple years waiting for it to come out.

I can't get enough of "Don't Get Sentimental On Me."
It may be one of my all-time favorites from him. Man, this is what I miss from him.

I've only listened one time thru but I really liked it. There was one really slow kill yourself song in the middle somewhere that was particularly amazing.

I've gotten so much new RA in the last six months it's hard for me to keep everything straight. As far as the albums go, I have everything except for Demolition and 29. I also have two of three wiskeytown cds and several of the session boots. I'd love to have an alphabetical list of every recorded song and what album/session(s) it appears on. That would be handy. Ever seen anything like that?

there used to be a site called answeringbell.com that did exactly that...not sure if it still exists.

Okay, ET sessions has officially grown on me and Cardinalogy officially has not. I'm going to give Cardinalogy a few more listens after some time away from it but it's just not hitting me. The band is tight, the song compositions are there, I think the album suffers lyrically though. The songs don't come together and make the same impact like they did on Easy Tiger. The Elizabethtown Sessions however, are fucking fantastic. It makes you wonder what else we haven't heard yet.

I don't understand why artists like RA, JJ, and Dylan hold on to songs and recordings like this and keep them from their fans. I guess I'd have to write over 100 songs to grasp that concept.

Lost Highway was the main reason these albums never came out. He wanted to release 3 albums in 07, and easy tiger wasntveven one of them.
