Metacritics highest rated album of the year: http://www.metacritic.com/music/bests/2008.shtml

I have this on order, should ship in a few weeks with the new Ray LaMontagne/Oasis!
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

HOLY SHIT!! THIS IS A KILLER ALBUM.  KILLER

OMG OMG OMG OMG.  This is easily the best music I've heard in a long time.  It sounds completely different from Cookie Mountain.  It sounds like a completely different fucking band.  Best album I've heard this year (and, yes, I put it ahead of Evil Urges and Fleet Foxes).  Woweeeee.  Pick this up if you haven't yet.

That guitar on "Crying" -  :D :exclamation  :D

I listened to this last night and I wasn't as blown away as I expected to be.  Maybe I just had my hopes too high after hearing so much praise for it.  Hopefully another listen or three will sway my opinion.

Stick with it.  I bought Cookie Mountain ast year, and other than a handful of songs, it hasn't grabbed me as a whole.  Bought Dear Science because it was supposedly more accessible.  First listen was okay, second listen was good, and third listen was great.  Now I am hoping this album helps me to get into Cookie Mountain.

"Foam-injected Axl Rose" is the new "peanut butter pudding surprise".   ;D

I'm still not entirely sold on this song aside from that first hand clap and those horns, but it's been growing on me a lot.

Still trying, still not quite there.  I did unexpectedly get hooked on the new Dr. Dog though...

I got the album a few weeks ago, but I never got into it. Some tips regarding the songs?

That was the part I was quite sure I should be doing, but the question is what songs. (and for those not so smart: I intent to listen to those on the last record, but I want to know if there are any outstanding songs, one or two in particular, I should listen to)

"Family Tree" and "Red Dress" probably grabbed me first, but as a whole I think the album hangs together really nicely.
if it falls apart or makes us millionaires

one focused listen of "shout me out" should do the trick.

My sister and I saw them before MMJ at the Syd and Mel BDO's. We had never heard much of them but thought hey were pretty cool. I love the drums!!!
How loud can silence get?
