9/26 - Steve Hackett @ The Strand Theater, Lakewood,N.J.
Cool!  Have fun.  Reminds me... I took this picture at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum for you and Laura.

Thanks John.    That pic brings back quite a few memories. We were at The Waldorf the night they got inducted, and I'm going to have to get to Cleveland one of these days to check out the HOF and see that exhibit up close.

Steve will be bringing his "Genesis Revisited" tour to the US, and Canada for some shows in September and October. It'll be all Genesis tunes that he was a part of from his time in the band; 1971-1977.  Look for a Live cd/DVD sometime this fall from the European leg of the tour.

I'm really looking forward to it, as this was my favorite era of Genesis music. I'll be at this show with Laura, and if things go as planned,  we'll get to spend some time with Steve again either pre or post show.
"Where's Jim going?"

Fully

I'm heading over to Raleigh, NC today to see Spiritualized, The Breeders, Sleep, and who knows what other bands Whippy will know and say we must see. Best of all, I get to spend the day hanging out with my friend, Whippy. Did I mention Whippy will be there?

A few at the moment confirmed

10/1: Portugal. The Man @ The Fillmore Silver Spring
10/18: White Denim @ Rock and Roll Hotel
11/7: J. Roddy Walston & The Business @ 9:30 Club

First time seeing all of these so hopefully they live up to the hype

DC has it's drawbacks...but live music isn't one of them.  I'm really excited

Looks like I'll be adding that Portugal. The Man show in Silver Spring to my list.  I'm really getting into their newest album.  Plus, I live so close to the Fillmore and haven't checked it out yet.

I haven't been yet either.  Apparently the Red Line runs right to it so it should be pretty convenient.

Yeah man!  I can't see how any of them wouldn't live up to the hype.  Three fantastic live bands for sure.  Enjoy!

Be right there with you g33ta. Although may split time between Johnny Fritz / the Low Anthem. It's too bad and a surprise the silks aren't playing this. BTW the silks debut album is out at shows. The drummer emailed me saying there will be a record release party in Providence in October!

Thanks to my Bandsintown app, which alerted me to a show, I'm gonna check out J. Roddy Walston & The Business tomorrow in Burlington, Iowa. Love the new album and psyched to see 'em live!

It was shaping up for a good time, but Michele needs to visit her brother in the hospital near Chicago, so life gets in the way. Her folks visiting last weekend prevented me from making an in-town Titus Andronicus show, so I'm at least building up some goodwill credit. Maybe Dawes next Tuesday?

Seeing Alt-J this Saturday at Stubbs in Austin. Has anyone seen them before? Good show?
Mona Lisa must'a had the highway blues, you can tell by the way she smiles.
